Yep. Baffles my mind that some fans don’t see that.
Definitely wasn’t the case back in the Mora days. They ticked him off daily and he told em about it lol.
I miss Coach Mora.

Indeed, and it made for some memorable moments with Mora that live forever on YouTube Another hilarious one is his tirade after the scrimmage with the Chiefs a few years earlier, in the '92 training camp.Yep. Baffles my mind that some fans don’t see that.

Pressers nowadays are carefully controlled orchestrations, complete with the team's backdrop adorned with whoever the main corporate sponsor is behind the talking head. I'm sure the league prefers it this way, especially during the current era with Goodell as commish. The media itself isn't exactly as hard-nosed with coaches as it once was, either. I don't think Buddy D or any of the T-P's big names of the past would want any part of this circus now.
I think at a certain point the league became so big and access became so important for these guys and their publications that reporters naturally started becoming more and more careful.
Look at it this way - you’re a guest coming into someone’s house; teams have no legal obligation to allow you into their home and don’t have to take your crap if they don’t want to. Want to be the tough guy pain in the butt reporter every week? Ok great, but guess what, you won’t be getting a credential next time.
For what it's worth, it's not like this the vast majority of other markets.
And as a fan, if I continue to see rosters full of holes and poor leadership overall, ok great, but guess what, I won't be spending money on a ticket to watch that messI think at a certain point the league became so big and access became so important for these guys and their publications that reporters naturally started becoming more and more careful.

Tone was set during the Payton era - ask tough questions or turn yourself into a media heel, and there will be, um, “professional consequences.”
Right or wrong, if you want to maintain your access, don’t make yourself a pain to deal with or create distractions for our environment. And definitely, without question, ever ask about player injuries, because you won’t like my answer.
SP has literally personally called reporters after press conferences or the day after games to scold them about questions they asked.
