Lord of the Rings Series -- Amazon (2 Viewers)

I just read that it's being discussed to reboot the series. I doubt it will happen. It appears that LOTR and hobbit fans are excited this might occur.

New Rumor Claims Prime Video To Completely Reboot 'The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power' After Creatively Bankrupt First Season - Bounding Into Comics
What an intro:

"A new rumor claims that Prime Video will be completely rebooting The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power following the creatively bankrupt first season, which chose to throw out Tolkien and replace it with intersectional feminism."

And it includes this quote:

"'And to add to that, what if I told you that The Rings of Power did not start this way. It was never meant to be a woke intersectional disaster. It didn’t have not-Gandalf. It didn’t have repurposed Hobbits. It didn’t have Halbrand as Sauron, and it didn’t have warrior Galadriel.'”

What kind of website is this? Comics for incels?

Yes- not a manchild hit piece foisting a hapless narrative at all - just cogent, clear eyed analysis

There's no way in Hades that they're going to redo the first season. They're literally filming the 2nd one right now and they spent hundreds of millions of dollars total.

Unless someone at Amazon Studios who is making these decisions gets axed. This series is not getting rebooted. WoT also had the major plot point character mystery boxed at the expense of major themes, and worldbuilding. WoT also had a relative inexperienced showrunner.

It's obvious there is an executive that thinks this the only way you make a series at Amazon, and wants to control the production.

The best we can hope for is that said executive goes to Russia and walks to the window for a smoke.

You mean that totally legitimate sounding youtuber that they are basing the entire article on could be making this up to feed into incel fanboy hopes and dreams? I would be shocked!

I never finished it. I didn’t really care about the characters and their sex or race. I didn’t like the story. It just underwhelmed. Now I didn’t read this book. Tried but I couldn’t. I have read the Hobbit and LotR at least a dozen times and seen the movies several times. They had me from the beginning. This show was boring, the story was hard to follow etc.
The show is way better than the book. Silmarillion was unreadable. You have to be hopped up on Adderal to have a fighting chance, and even then you’d likely fail to get through it. Hobbit and LOTR were amazing.

This show is not based on the Silmarillion. This is all based on the appendices.

It’s not THAT bad. I think people set their standards way to high
I think if you're following the Jackson trilogy, you'd better understand where the bar's been set.

I also think it's not too much to ask for a protagonist you can root for. Someone engaging, whose actions make sense.
