Well, I think Disney has gotten the message about oversaturation. There's only one currently scheduled movie release '24. Deadpool. I'm looking forward to that. I'm curious if he'll be toned down at all or if he'll be the same Deadpool we all know and love.On a recent episode of Pardon the Interruption Tony Kornheiser had a line I thought was interesting
He was talking about sports dynasties in general and the Golden State Warriors in particular
"First you're good. Then you're great. Then you're good. Then you're done."
That may apply to Marvel. Maybe it's just over.
And if it is, the MCU will still go down as one of Hollywood's greatest successes
And improbable. After seeing Iron Man for the first time and finding out about their plan for a shared universe of movies, I thought "that will never work"
It did. For well over a decade
I think they need to start over
Instead of incorporating the X-Men and Fantastic Four into this existing MCU start a new one over with them then introduce new versions of Spiderman, Hulk, Captain America etc. and not just re cast version of the same heroes, but complete new versions. Make it clear this is not the same Iron Man and Thor we've seen
And even then, it may not be enough. Maybe comic book movies are just done for now. they'll be back, the characters are too ingrained in our culture not to be but maybe not for a decade.
I'm very curious what the new Superman turns out to be
the analogy falls short bc it lacks (lots of) contextOn a recent episode of Pardon the Interruption Tony Kornheiser had a line I thought was interesting

it's not like Marvel has been replaced - there's no Nuggets or Bucks in the analogy - and you would have to have a scenario where the whole structure of the NBA (or even sports watching) changed
it's probably more like Marvel is the NFL and everyone is predicting it will have a similar fate as MLB - a mostly legacy product that gets infusions of newness every now and then
it might...
but if anything thinks they can predict what streaming and movies looks like in the next decade is either savant or psycho
I also think a break and a full reboot would do good.On a recent episode of Pardon the Interruption Tony Kornheiser had a line I thought was interesting

What he says to her in those texts is pretty standard operating procedure for someone engaging in emotional abuse.Could be manipulative, but sounds to me like the words of someone who is bipolar or mentally unstable. At minimum, he needs to get help.
No question. Actually more likely. Personal experience speaking, yeah. Family member with bi-polar disorder, messy all around.yeah………that’s not good
and it’s not like a bipolar person couldn’t engage in emotional abuse/manipulation
