How do you like the Bryan Bresee pick?

I was hoping for Mazi Smith or Clancey. When they were both gone we got Breese. I think this could work out well for us. I'm tired of whiffing on DE's with Davenport and Payton.

I would love either of them, but at the same time I'm hoping that the Saints can sit tight at 40 and land LB Drew Sanders. His athleticism, production and versatility really intrigue me. He can play ILB position as well as rush from the edge.
Big A, I'm with you. He's got a little of Werner in him.

Not trading up and hanging on to the 40 pick is a plus for me. Lots of talent left on the board, and we are in prime position to have a need fall to us by finally not trading away draft capital.

I’m not disappointed with our pick. Every year I feel like “I know best” and every year the team shows me that they get paid to make those decisions for a reason. The right fit and scheme is just as important as a high ceiling. There were flashier players on the board, depending if you wanted pure pass rush, that didn’t fit our scheme and need. Bresee fits what we do, fills a need, and has potential to be a beast. I’ll be rooting for him.

Oh? Most injury plagued player? Do some research. He missed time, but to a singular injury. Little sis fought cancer and lost which caused him some lost time and a kidney infection (a non-football **illness**). The singular injury was a serious one - an ACL. It took him awhile to come back to normal.

The question is not that he is injury plagued, but how close to 100% he is and will the ACL cause future problems. That remains to be seen.
It's what a lot of people do, they read that a player had an injury and they automatically call him injury prone without really looking into it. This board is famous for it. Like you said he had ONE football injury, an ACL. Yes, it's a fairly big one that he had 4 games into the 2021 season. ACL's really take about 2yrs to be back to where they were before and you could see BB get better each game, in fact, you could see some of the reasons why he was ACC defensive rookie of the yr in 2020 in the last few games like the TN game where he played quite well against some TOP talent O lineman. But hey but if they are too lazy to do some research they'll post inaccurate stuff

He missed no time for the shoulder, It was a minor shoulder surgery, it was insignificant
My bad. I see that he didn't miss time because the surgery was in January which might have been the offseason. However, for him to have surgery in January 2022 means he was injured in 2021. I mean people don’t just get surgery for the hell of it

Big A, I'm with you. He's got a little of Werner in him.
I also thought about that comparison. Both versatile, about the same 40 times (4.58 vs. 4.59), and similar measurables other than Drew Sanders is slighly taller at 6 ft 4. I mean, Sanders has a 37' vertical and Werner had a 39.5 vertical. Both are impressive. Even the negatives were similar in write ups, like "fall too easily for misdirection", etc. Both were highly productive in college. What grabbed me is that Sanders only has 1-yr. at LB under his belt. Can't wait to see what he does a couple of years from now.

Anyway, probably won't happen... Just someone I've noticed and really liked researching this draft. Same with Jack Campbell when it comes to Linebackers, but Campbell went way earlier than I expected to the Lions. Guess Dan Campbell needed his name sake on his team. I get it! I can be pretty defensive of Andrus Peat! :hihi:
