Millennials Killing Mayonnaise (2 Viewers)

Oye thank you. I may try that once down to my 205 target.
I’ve cold turkey cut it, all water all the time. And it’s worked. I sure do miss tea though.
I am absolutely smitten with sweet tea. My whole life.

after getting up to near 300 after moving here and doing nothing for months except being cold and drinking too much beer, my blood pressure got up to 155/115. I'd been active and athletic throughout high school and undergrad, but once I moved here - it all stopped.

Doctor said I needed to get my diet right if I wanted to avoid medication. I dropped 75 lbs and got back to my HS weight of 215. At 6'6" I have more room to put on weight before it really shows, but that blood pressure tells no lies.

Been able to pretty much keep it off ever since. Definitely worth it. Props on doing the same.

Also, on Dr. Pepper I’ve never been a carbonated drinks fan.
An interesting thing I’ve found in Houston area, they LOVE Dr. Pepper.
I’m talking all day long. It’s crazy to me.

I will say that I'm not a big carbonated drink fan, either. Aside from Dr. Pepper, an occasional ginger ale if the stomach is upset. But Dr. Pepper is the exception. Old school Mr. Pibb (not that Pibb Xtra bullshirt) was also pretty good.

Man, that’s awesome you lost the weight too Oye.
That weight is hard on the body in a plethora of ways.
And TY.

I’m 35, and Mayo has been gross for all 35 of them.

Re: Sweet tea. In order to cut some of those empty sugar calories, I changed my recipe up awhile back. A cup of stevia (actually 2 heaping 1/2 cups), and a heaping 1/2 of sugar does the trick for me these days.

Buzd is 100% correct. Blue plate is the best, Duke's #2. Lots of mayo on every sandwich. I've recently given up shredded cheese and sour cream, but mayo, never. It accentuates burgers, egg sandwiches, BBQ brisket sandwiches, roast beef po-boys, and BLTs. A sandwich without mayo is like french fries without salt, totally bland.

Mustard is good too, but mayo is the condiment that life demands.

Miracle Whip is "dressing, " not mayo. It says so right on the label. This was a huge debate back in my college days with one of my roommates. It was the one thing we could not compromise on at the store, so we had both mayo (for me and the other roommates) and Miracle Whip for him. He was wrong, and eventually admitted to it a few years ago when we got together to see our college team play a football game.
