Payton has already said several times that Siemian is the man in an emergency, but Hill is the man with a week to prepare.

The only caveat here is that Hill is still recovering from a concussion. If he’s cleared, he’s the guy. Point blank.

I know Coach will keep his promise to Hill. But, I’d rather see Trevor at QB with Hill as a weapon than Hill at QB without Hill as a weapon.

Hill’s “W.A.R” over our lesser RB/TE/WR threats is greater than his “W.A.R.” over Trevor at QB, IMHO.

Wouldn't he be able to make more plays as the starting QB? As opposed to the 3-5 snaps he gets in that role?

While Siemean is probably the immediate answer, I wouldn't mind seeing the Saints open the "BOOK" & let the young man do his thing.. Hill has scrambled eggs that need to stay on the counter in the bowl, not out there fooling around with grown men ready to throw him in the skillet.. just sayin'..

Payton did NOT say Hill would be starting next week, just that if Hill hadn’t been injured Siemian would have been backup and Hill would’ve started the next week.

That’s what will happen if Hill is healthy. No way Siemian starts over Hill. Hill was second to Winston this off-season, and nothing has changed. (The thoughts in this paragraph are mine, not Payton’s.)

Yeah, he’s been out for 3 weeks with a concussion. Even if he’s ready to go, Payton is going to be getting Simian ready to play.

To be honest, I think the Saints have a better chance of winning with Semian under center. He is a true QB. I am tired of the Hill EXPERIMENT.

His job will be to not lose games, more than it will be to win them. Let the defense and the running game win the game.
