I feel sorry for the Saints fans who are still at the Dome. They know that what they are seeing on the field is totally trash, but they also know that this is the last time they will see their team at home until next season.

This is what I’ve been curious about. I said from the day they first started him a couple months back, what makes him different from say, a guy like Desmond Ridder? Why is Rattler looked at as this massive upside when what he seems to struggle with are pretty major things for an NFL QB.

It’s called homerism or seeing the team through black and gold glasses.

Agree. He can make every throw. It’s sloppy mechanics and playing behind a horrible IOL is a recipe for developing bad habits.

I think he has potential and needs more reps. DA made the right choice in Rattler over Haener.

Yeah Rattler can be a good back.up. Haener will never see the field in the regular season anywhere again

Oddly enough I’ve been wary of the scheme a bit since JT O’Sullivan reviewed Rattlers pre-season game and he kept saying some of the things in this scheme didn’t make sense and that he wasn’t a fan of it.

Year this thing down and build from the draft with young players. Let them grow together with a good HC. Look at what Green Bay has done. One of the youngest teams in the league and playing well.

Green Bay’s GM didn’t bury his team in bad restructured/backloaded contracts. Loomis’ incredibly bad cap mismanagement has sunk this team for the foreseeable future. Even if Loomis nails the next HC hiring (he won’t) and has an incredible draft this team will be bad for several more seasons before being even remotely competitive.

Nothing they haven't seen before. Fan's will get hype during the draft and a 1 min off season highlight reel during a practice

Folks still think he can be "coached up".

He can't. The whole QB position is about slowing the game down thru understanding defense and knowing your offense. He doesn't show either at this point. Moreover, when the lane to get 5 yards is there, he hesitates. By time he decides, it's closed. That's NFL.

Works in NCAA not here.

Which just adds to the pressure he feels

A team would have to be in pretty bad shape to take Rattler off the practice squad. They would have to put him on their 53 man roster. Have you seen how many interceptions were dropped by Oakland today?

Rattler wouldn't clear waivers much less be on a practice squad to be signed. If you don't see a young QB with worlds of potential that played a pretty good game despite no help from those around him, I don't know what to tell you.
