Saints at the top of Davante Adams’ wish list [Raiders trade Adams to Jets for conditional 3rd ; Jets paying Adams’ entire remaining salary] (8 Viewers)

I'd argue that it's two weeks in a row that he wasn't even given enough time to throw the ball away properly. He was trying to not take sacks and not get intentional grounding calls that would hurt the team, which we would also judge him for. Both of those were better options than interceptions in hindsight, but Carr knows it's better to throw the ball away in a way that doesn't draw a flag or get behind the chains on a sack. He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. If the ball had sailed over Adebo last night, we'd have no problem with it. Same with last week, if it had slipped past Judon and landed at Olaves feet, nobody would mention it at all.
I don't disagree, and that's to be expected against that type of front and missing that many players on your o-line. Health of the team around him is playing a part in his confidence and our ability to scheme around things. Yet, and I say this....that's where a QB has to put the offense on his shoulders and go make some plays. I can excuse him for not having time, I don't excuse him for not making some plays w/ his legs.

I'm almost 100% certain, if I look at the all 22, he had some running space on some plays and he just didn't take it.

I can agree with that, until I remember who that QB is and how he has played for the last decade in the NFL. That's never been who he is no matter how much we want him to be that. If that is what is required to be the Saints QB in 2024, we have the wrong guy.

Yes, he can help, but it's not a need and will not improve our current online mess.
How can you look at our WR performance yesterday and say it's not a need? To say it's not an area of need is absurd to me. It's not the number one need, but it's absolutely an issue.

they dont need Adams. Mahomes buys enough time in the pocket that he can get an 8th grade WR open.
The crazy thing is all of that usually happens when he misses a receiver that Andy Reid schemes open. 😶

Which is why I wish I knew what was going on with AT Perry. I thought he was going to break out this season.

It can be a need but not be a need worthy of giving up picks and insane amounts of money for a 31 years old WR. I would argue the lOL, TE1, RB2 and DT are all far bigger issues.

Can you imagine being Adams and watching the Jets and Saints this week? He has to be rethinking where he wants to play.

I, man....after his 2nd or 3rd throw I looked over at my girl and said "He scared" I swear I thought it was just me, but yeah. The bone headed decisions, that's 2 weeks in a row he calls a throw stupid, and yet you're making it.
And if he took a sack instead of throwing the ball away, you'd be whining on here calling him a "coward" and all that.

...or he's a big time talent that got to the level he got by being a big time competitor, and views both situations like "Damn let me get in there and show them how it's done and that I am the ultimate X factor for their offensive woes."

I get your point but not why I’m there. I’m a huge Jets fan and always have been. lol

I'm not saying we need to give up too much for Adams, and apparently, other teams aren't willing to break the bank either, so the question is do the Raiders want to pay to make him go away? I mean, they're gonna pay regardless. The only question is how much.

As for the other needs, some of those we can't practically address immediately because there's no one readily available. Adams is available and that's why he's getting the bulk of the attention.

I'm sure ML has a proposal in mind and will walk away if the Raiders don't play along.

This.

And with that, I believe that he will go to the New York Jets.

The Saints are not an attractive destination right now. No cap space and injuries aplenty. Yes, you can heal but for the immediate, not so much.

The Jets have more money to play and with, an easier schedule than the Saints and now that the owner Aaron Rod.........I mean Woody Johnson has fired Saleh, Rodgers can now tell his buddy, "Let's you and me show them how it's done."

And let's face it, the Jets are a bit reckless when it comes to these things.

Devante Adams will be a Jet by weeks end........

So you are suggesting they are the reason for the loss?

Not reading 53 pages but Loomis trading for a 30+ year old WR with a huge contract while having a mediocre QB and a bottom 5 HC and OL is the most Loomis thing ever.
Lmao, the bellyaching about something someone hasn't done yet is funny.
