Serious question, is Adams a cancer with the Raiders? Has he caused locker room problems for them? I understand wanting to get something back for him if he's not in the future plans. But to pay to make him go away seems kind of crazy.

Well he signed with LV because he wanted to play with DC and then McDaniels was incompetent and they let him walk. Davis went cheap and kept Pierce as HC. They completely ignored the QB problem. Let Jacobs walk. Just kind of overall being the Raiders. Don't think that would sit well with me either

Even with what you said before this, the Raiders are not asking for a 3rd and they aren't looking to eat any of the money from what I understand. They want a 2nd and to pass his salary to the next team. That is the proposed trade right now. I don't see why they would even bother trading him if they had to pay him regardless. It sets up a lot of risk of making their front office and coaches look bad if he balls out somewhere else on their dime.

Plus, we would have to make the deal before the injured players get back or knowing that we were turning things around. Why would we do that knowing that we were going to have to cut him before the next league year? It's just throwing away a pick and forcing us to reshuffled future money midseason to get his salary under and leaving no room for other transactions we may need to make because of injuries. It just doesn't make any sense.

LV asking for a 2 and a player AND not eating his 24 salary has been poo poo'd by pretty much the whole league, they not getting that. They pretty much have to trade him ASAP because they are NOT paying him what his contract says for 25-26. So they'd have to cut him and get nothing. So it's get a 3, or maybe a 2 and eat some of his 24 salary, take a 4th or 5th and the other team pays his 24 salary. Or pay him for the rest of the yr and he walks and they get nothing

I don't know. All I know is he's close to Carr and has expressed interest in playing with him. I don't know what he's willing to do. After the season, we can cut him or renegotiate his contract. He already knows the Saints won't be able to keep him on his current contract after this season.

No team is going to pay him 71 mil for 25 & 26. So he knows he's not getting that

For me it’s simple, trade for him even if it means burning a 2nd rounder to do it, but Raiders have to eat as much salary as possible, i.e. we only pay vet minimum for him the rest of the season.

Play out the season, if we make playoffs and it works then we work out an extension or rework the 25 million cap hit he has next season.

If we still miss the playoffs and it all goes to hell, cut Adams, fire the entire coaching staff, start working towards clearing the older players (this will take 2 seasons), find a young up and coming coach (throw the bag at Ben Johnson) and let it be known we will be patient while rebuilding with what will be a very young and cheap roster.

Down with the 1st part , don't agree with the 2nd. Do that and we not only waste the rest of AK, Demario,HB, and Taysom's career but we're in for a 4-5yr rebuild and that's IF we get the right hire and hit in the draft

Well, if they are taking his salary and will take a 4th I guess I'm in. But they aren't going to do that. They already have to eat what's left of his $40 million signing bonus. Paying another $12 million for a 4th round pick is a fire-able offense. The Raiders are the poorest team in the league. They don't just toss around money like that.

Want something for almost nothing much do you? While they are at it make them trade Crosby for Turner LOL

We do not owe those players anything but our appreciation. They get paid ridiculous amounts of money to play a kids game and have all played well and not won it all because it's hard to win it all. But there is zero reason to go all in for those guys and harm the teams ability to get better in the future. Whether it's making the cap worse than it already is or trading away desperately needed draft picks, it just isn't worth it while on a 3 game losing streak and having a backup offensive line and QB for the time being. If we were playing great all around and needed just one piece to really solidify the team, that would be something else. But that's not what this team is.

1st , no we don't OWE anyone , but AK , Demario, HB , Taysom and maybe Lattimore and Carr are some of our best players, They have 2 maybe 3 yrs of playing at a high level. To not take full advantage of those yrs is just dumb. Adams in a move that because his window is pretty much the same as theirs would be taking advantage of what they ALL have left. 2nd it's pick , not picks.
Like I've been saying, if it takes a 2nd and LV eats most of his 24 salary. We sign him for 2 more yrs. Then we use our 1st and 3rd next yr for OL and a pass rusher. We have a 2 -3 yr window to make a SB push. If it does not happen in 2, 3yrs at the most, we blow the whole thing up. New HC,QB,RB. and get the cap in line.

This isn’t accurate. He wanted to be with Carr specifically.

Let’s not forget we are talking about prime Davante Adams here…he was going to get paid no matter where he went and just about any team would have been elated to have him. He very much dictated where he went based on who he was willing to sign with, and that was with one team and one team only, his college BFF Carr’s squad.

LOL NO ONE has said we are 1 player away. There is not a team in the league that can say they are 1 player away except for KC and that's only because they have won the last 2 SB's. . But Adams would be less player away from being a contender in the NFC and that's a guarantee. There's no draft pick that you can say that about
