Saints to interview Aaron Glenn on Jan. 10th [Nick Underhill: Glenn probably gets an in person 2nd interview in a couple of weeks] (156 Viewers)

No, I'm not. Tom Brady was still coached by a defensive minded coach in New England when he won Superbowls there within the last decade. Do you think he ceased development?
Brady was developed into a franchise QB over 2 decades ago.

Again, you're completely out of context of the conversation which was naming when a QB was developed into a franchise QB by a defensive head coach in the last decade. Not when an already franchise QB won a superbowl who was developed by a defensive head coach.

Two very different things.

And Tom won the Super Bowl 3 and 5 years ago. That's hardly ancient history. And none of it changes the fact that he developed under a defensive HC.

Reading comprehension. When was he developed INTO a franchise QB by the defensive head coach? Over 20 years ago. Again, no one has done it in the last decade which was the original statement. The league as changed far to much to go back that far. No defensive head coach has done it in the last 10 years. Every single franchise QB in the NFL right now was developed under an offensive head coach.

You guys keep trying to change the statement I made. its not working, at all

There are certainly advantages in an offensive HC. But you need 3 things to win a SB, a QB, and a good OC and DC. Whether it's an offensive coach or defensive coach, if you have a good one, you have one of those covered. SB level coaches are hard to come by, offensive or defensive. What's important is finding a good coach. And I don't see how eliminating half of the options on the table is helpful.

Lol. You keep moving the goalposts every time someone proves you wrong and then you lash out claiming we lack reading comprehension and claim we are moving the goalposts.

It doesn't matter when he was developed into a franchise QB, first because you said it doesn't happen and second because he was still playing at a very high level and won a Super Bowl 3 years ago after having been developed by a defensive HC.

And Lamar Jackson, under a ST coach.
A recent example would be MVP favorite Josh Allen.

Very good examples. 2. Out of how many? But they also never won superbowls either, which was part of the original criteria. I can concede to these two, because I think we'd all agree both are good enough with current coaches to win one, and still may this year.

So just two of the top 5 QBs in the NFL right now? Yeah, defensive or non-offensive HCs can't develop franchise QBs in the modern game.

I mean you can't say Tom Brady doesn't count when he's won 40% of the Super Bowls in your criteria. ;)

That and qb development isn't static. Brady continued to be developed throughout his career.

Like that's ever going to happen. You take the offer or go somewhere else. Mickey will have other options too.

Right, thats where we are. Ideally, Loomis letting his HC do his job is where we need to be. But I agree with you in reality. Even if Loomis is 100% convinced Glenn is the right guy, he is going to go another direction if he cant keep his thumb pressed on the power.

If Loomis continues his ego power trip, we will end up with another puppet - there is no better puppet than a special teams coach who went 3-5 as interim. As much as Id like for someone to be able to wrench some power from him, when you are judge, jury and executioner....with zero pressure on your position - you keep doing what youre doing.
