Silo on Apple TV (2 Viewers)

I’m still not sold on the notion that this has been happening for generations
Not saying it must be, but I think there are suggestions that this is only 2-3 generations old (40+ years)
seems it has to more than that because stories can easily be past down 4,5,6 generations. i feel like it has been so long that even that has been forgotten.
plus, all the names they found on the wall of dead mechanical citizens spans multiple uprisings, thats not something that can be forgotten in a couple generations.

They’ve dropped the drug that makes you forget idea several times

For me the before times tech is too new for it to be centuries old

The only big times clues we seem to have is Meadows and Bernard’s 40 year relationship and something major happened 25 years ago (I’m guessing meadows went to another silo)

eta:
My wild speculation now is that the unrest back into villainizing mechanicals is the test
The order is trying to find the people/leader who will overcome our basic tribal programming and find the way to unite instead of cannibalize

the fact that no one even knows what stars are and that they are on a planet and that it revolves around the sun.. that seems like a lot of work with a memeory loss drug. with that many people.

All due respect , how does anyone live through the last decade+ of this country’s social landscape and question any odd reactions of a fictional populace?

It's really still a big mystery...the actual timeline/scope
You've got the old/last flame keeper lady, who was being drugged--she can hardly remember much about the generation that handed down intel, but she had a good amount of what seem like the facts. She knew about the BC and the likely that the water was being doped to limit their memories.
I still don't think they've been down in the Silo all that long...maybe 100-125 years?

I like that Meadows withheld pertinent info from Bernard, even in her dying moments. It will lead to his curiosity getting the better of him and repairing that hard drive. I still don't think he's the actual 'bad guy' and he's doing the best with what he's tasked with and just following the order playbook. He knew Meadows had an innate way of thinking past the order and predicting moves--instead of just reacting, like he is. It was ultimately too scary for him--despite 'loving' her. His overall slope is still too slippery and he's going to end up making more emotional calls that will make him the villain...and also likely make Juliet the unifying heroine. I think she still needs to see what is in Solo's vault, that will prove a lot of what the Founders setup and she can go back with that intel.

Also still kind of want to believe Solo isn't really alone...but they could just be messing with us?

he knows that meadows is smarter than he is and smarter than most anyone else and still thinks it's more important to follow a script handed down from ?????????????

evil isn't the person with the bad idea - evil is the people who turn the bad ideas into harm for others

yeah the solo stuff is close to getting me annoyed in that they deliberately used camera angles and clues to strongly hint there are others around, and yet...

She was definitely smarter than him. We know that as his prospective shadow she had some ideas of the inner workings of the system--but not likely the contact to whomever is calling the shots to Bernard (thru the #18 glowing keychain device). He leveraged whatever trauma she suffered 25 yrs ago to basically keep her at bay thru alcohol. Whatever she decoded from the hard drive--and then disappeared for 4 days is intertwined. I don't think she went to another silo, though...but maybe? The VR headset video she watched as she was dying had an original date of 2018 on it (according to closed captioning watchers)...

Also I hear you with the Solo/17 stuff. It could all be a fake-out via what looked like a cut rope when Julia took her first plunge and the sneaky camera angles. In that classroom the chalkboard was full of sequential codes--likely the 2 people that were trying to get into the vault...but maybe there are others yet?

My thoughts:
Methodical but solid episode, lots of cool sheet happened
Solo ain't Solo, guy is either from another Silo (less likely) or a young rebel when it all occurred...possibly sometime a little ways after (the two people in picture Juliet found might be those bodies outside the vault?
Bernard and Juliets dads with some arse off acting scenes
Common's character, Sims, not so much...is he going to the leather judge robes.
Sims gets a big demotion, Lukas (star boy) gets a promo outta the mines--he's gonna find out a lot
Blueprint recovery was interesting (there could be several ways in between Silos)
But, the key takeaway is the tunnel...Bernard had no clue
Billings has flipped or will
Salvador Quinn...hmmm
Sims wife with an interesting maneuver, that character has potential
Juliet needs a med-pack

i think Lukas will know too much and will not survive this task.

Yeah, Bernard made it pretty clear...there's better people for the job, but he's controllable...but likely easiest to off when the time comes, too.
Spoiler from trailer footage:
We see Lukas in (likely) Bernard's vault, so he really moves up
We also possibly see him climbing/descending on a huge ladder--could be mines but more likely a way to passage/tunnel at the bottom of the vault. He's at risk but going to be playing a big role.

With half the season down, here are my predictions for the rest (I have not read the source material and never read spoilers/theories for shows:
Juliet is sick from a wound she suffered falling down the chute in 18, likely some sort of radiation poising got in there because the tape was coming off on her suit near her entry into 17. Solo will bring her into the vault to give her medical attention and she will learn many applicable secrets about the Silos. Solo will refuse to give her back her helmet until she agrees to fix his water problem. They'll pump the water out and decide to go back thru the low point access tunnel--likely around ep 9 maybe 10.
She'll return to basically an all out revolution in progress. Lots of collateral damage and deaths. I think Knox is wiser than he lets on and has figured out that Judicial and esp IT run on their own power supply--he gave Shirley a wink/cue when they were walking thru. He's also made it a point to say how everyone thinks their job is the most important in the Silo and he's comes to grips with the fact that mechanical isn't that critical and is mostly used as a blame device throughout Silo history.
I still have no idea on actual time frames and if the ones they cited are remotely accurate. The memory drug makes almost anything possible...
Juliet saves the day and leads the down deep and mids back to 17 to rebuild, setting up an eventual war with the remnants of Bernard's power structure (he'll hold Juliet's dad hostage) and whomever the true leader(s) ends up being--if they emerge this soon. We might even get some sort of communique from another Silo leader to 17?
