the soul stone requires a love sacrifice

But what if somehow they steal the Gauntlet? The movie, to me, made it seem like in order to get the Soul Stone while on Vormir required a sacrifice. After killing Gamora he woke up with it. But once someone has it do you have to sacrifice someone just to grab it?

didn't Red Skull kind of indicate that;s why he couldn't use it?
i would be for the infinity stone (and for story telling purposes) you would have to "sign on as new user" for it to work

He used the Teserac(space stone) to get to Vormir, but couldn't get the soul stone from there and instead was relegated to being Charon of the Soul Stone. Iron Man did lose Spiderman, so maybe just suffering a great loss was enough to qualify him. In his mind, it was by his own hand as he gave him the suit and he died just like he said he would. This would also make sense in regards to the one path Strange saw, forcing Tony to be saved.

it's not a catch 22, but i can't think of what it would be called - as soon as you decide to kill someone you "love" to gain power then you don't really love them
i know if they played out that idea it would be a conundrum, but...

The soul stone sequence is entirely up for interpretation at this point. I took it as Thanos being reduced to the only thing that ever mattered for him, his love for Gamora.

I think A4 begins on Titan with a heavy conversation between Thanos and Iron Man. Isn't he still stuck there with Rocket? I've only seen it once. I've been itching for a second viewing but haven't had the time.

Thanos went to Gamora's homeworld I believe. Rocket is on Earth. Ironman is on Titan with Nebula, and she has a ship. At least this is how I remember it.

The stone was stuck on that planet it seems seeing as how Red Skull was the keeper and couldn't leave the planet. It seemed like a magical place since Thanos kills Gamora and then wakes up in some water with the stone. I think that once it was free from Vormir then anyone could take it. I mean let's say if anyone wants it they have to kill someone they love. Does that mean if someone steals the Gauntlet the soul stone floats out of it and goes near Thanos? Or flies back to Vormir? I doubt that. I think anyone is now free and clear to take it.

Mantis is there too. I don't think she disappeared.

Nope, she's gone, too. Rocket is the only Guardian still among the undissolved. Stark and Nebula are on Titan (they may be able to get off the planet depending on the shape of her ship, which she used to crash land into Thanos). Thanos is at an undisclosed location watching a sunset. Everyone else is on Earth.

You're right, I thought I knew Rocket was the only one left but I didn't remember Mantis disappearing.

Either they can use her ship or perhaps Thor could summon the bifrost to go retrieve them. But who is left that would know they ended up on Titan? Rocket and Thor are the only ones that had ever been anywhere other than Earth, but they knew that the other Guardians were going to Nowhere, not Titan. Maybe Bruce from when Tony took off into space to track the flying donut?
