To me, I think it saves canon with the TOS.

  • Sarek doesn't appear, so he's still pissed about Spock being in Starfleet.
    [*]Spock and T'Pring are in a "break." They didn't call the engagement completely off yet.
I think things are safe at least, from that standpoint.

I think that helps reinforce the Spock/T'Pring episode in TOS. She's moved on.

I don't think she's moved on just just, hence them using the term "break." Bu like Spock, she'll hook up with Stonn and we'll continue our way to the TOS.
However, I don't have an issue with inserting Chapel into continuity now to officially end those two beforehand.
 
I'm not deep into Trek; I've watched some of the movies (First Contact is my favorite), I've seen a few random episodes of TNG, literally a couple episodes of the original series. I'm aware of the lore and characters and I watched all of Picard, but not a ton else TV-wise. No Discovery, Deep Space Nine, etc. But I LOVE this show.

It is a good, stand alone show, with just enough easter eggs for Trekkies/Trekkers to make us all happy.
 
Another great episode. That interaction between the Kirk brothers was pretty cool. Next week's episode is the one I've been anticipating this season.
 
Another great episode, I loved it.
But that ending. Oh that ending. That was was the best fan service they could have given us. It was so awesome. Not Enterprise D back from the dead awesome but only a few steps below it.

Uhura should have never been let out of sick bay after it was shown she had similar symptoms to the engineer from the space station. Then they LET HER HAVE A PHASER?!?!? WTH!?!

Kirk and Pike made some seriously poor command decisions. Or I should say the writers made some bad decisions for them.

Outside of that, I loved this episode. I also like Kirk mentioning Spock was about to be checkmated by Chapel. Nice touch.

Add to that list...site-to-site emergency transporter use! Gotta say that feature will be very helpful to Capt Pike in the near future!

Dang, I’m gonna be tied up. I’ll watch it tomorrow.
Anyways, I’m calling this now. Boimler inadvertantly gives Pike and out that saves him from the chair and lets Kirk become Captain. Klingon Timekeepers vow a blood oath to kill Boimler.
 
I had to catch up on this past week's episode 6.

- It was so awesome to see Hemmer back, even if only for a few moments!
- Pretty cool seeing the Bussard collectors in action.
- The writers are really doing a great job of keeping everyone involved and connecting various episode storylines together.

And the early episode 7!! It just keeps getting better and better, against all odds.

- The Easter Eggs were flying fast and furious from start to finish.
- The Lower Deck uniforms look sharp in "real life."
- Just the right balance of comedy, action, drama. Seems Pike is still on course to his future.
- Loved that TOS is "Those Old Scientists"
- Very good to have Archer and crew talked about. I know ST:ENT wasn't many people's favorite, but I enjoyed it.
