The only issue I'm having with SNW is Kirk. He just doesn't "feel" like Kirk. I don't want to see a Shatner impersonation, but I want to feel like I'm watching a similar character. He just seems like a guy with the same name. The cockiness, attitude, swagger... it's all missing.

Other than that this is the best Trek content I've ever watched.
Maybe he just hasn't "become" Kirk yet. He is already making decisions based on both logic and his gut, which is Kirk, he just needs to do more thinking outside the box. Maybe that develops later in his career.

This is my thinking. The Kelvin timeline had us thinking Kirk was always KIRK. But perhaps he's not, and KIRK is something Kirk has to evolve into. Considering he's only a lieutenant now (which never happened in Kelvin), he has time.

It's almost like they're giving him the Picard treatment in how he rose in the ranks.

He reminds me of Jim Carrey.

Today's episode was just, wow!

Man, that was a different episode.
Even as an Army veteran, I can only partly relate to it. But I do get an inkling of what the good Doc was going through.

Edit: it was kinda cool to see Clint Howard in this episode. It’d be nice if we can see him pop up again, maybe as a CMO for a starbase or the Farragut.

Two moments that made me laugh out loud was when Pike's ode to Marie was abruptly cut-off and the Klingon break during the "Finale". :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Ok, I usually hate musicals, but this one worked so well, and I'm impressed with how well the cast can sing...

Sperlers in this article if you haven't seen the episode yet...
