That Derek Carr Contract is Looking Pretty Brilliant Now (2 Viewers)

Wasn't the Raiders defense consistently giving up 30-40 points every game? And exactly what QB was ever good enough in NFL history to overcome a defense that bad?
Go sit down.
Whoa boy!! Got another internet tough guy trying to push someone around I see.

Raiders PPG with Carr at QB, minus his rookie year, as I give him a pass on that year.

2015: 22.4 17th/32
2016: 26.0 7th/32
2017: 18.8 23rd/32
2018: 18.1 28th/32
2019: 19.6 24th/32
2020: 27.1 10th/32
2021: 22.0 18th/32
2022: 23.2 12th/32

All of those offenses were lead by Derek Carr, minus one game in 2017 when he hurt his back and E.J. Manuel started and the last two games of the 2022 season when they rightly benched him. Oddly enough, they scored an average of 23.5 points in those two games started by Stidham, but they scored 34 vs the niners and only 13 vs the Chiefs. But in a limited sample, Stidham was buck for ball with Carr in PPG average.

You can't lay those offensive stats at the defense's feet. Yes they weren't very good, but neither was Derek Carr.

I will now depart the thread and hope to return, good Lord willing, the Sunday they meet and talk smack with each other. FYI, I expect Derek Carr to go off in that game. Good bye until then my friends!!!

Well, didn’t mention anything about Carr. This was a defend Brock Purdy post. He’s a really good QB.

I know what it was. I’m just wondering if we’re saying Carr is elite.
Or Sam Darnold. Or do the stats defense only apply to Purdy.

SMH you do know that DC in the last 2 games has lead the O to the should have been game-winning score inside 2min in both games only to have the D let them down. When will people understand it NOT ALL ON THE QB IF A TEAM WINS OR LOSES
So we're blaming the defense that gave up 1 offensive touchdown in the last two games? Got it. If carr plays better then we win those football games. Not to mention the pick 6 he threw in the Atlanta game or the interception at the end of the Philly game.

Yes, if Derek Carr were 2022 Patrick Mahomes (definitely not 2024 Patrick Mahomes), we would indeed have probably won another game out of the two losses.

You've cracked the code. Genius. All we need is an elite QB playing like an elite QB and everything will be fine. Can you tell me where to get one of those?

Or you could acknowledge Carr put this team in a position to win both of the last two weeks in ways good QBs do despite being under immense pressure due to OL injuries. He is so far down the list of issues right now it's not even worth arguing over. If you'd like to, though, be my guest.

Everyone should be judged by the same criteria. That would be fair. Personally, I just don’t get the Purdy slander

There is a large gap between Derek Carr's play the last two games and 2022 Patrick Mahomes. The defense has given up 1 offensive touchdown the last two games and lost. That doesn't require Patrick Mahomes in 2022 Quarterback play to win those games.

The Atlanta game he is absolutely a big reason why we lost. We lost by two in a game that he threw a pick 6. The Philly game, he didnt do anything like that but he also was horrible.

On 3 and 2 I think lol

I look forward to this weekly bump for next 2 years. Both the 0-line and him being bad can both be true at the same time. Before any Carr lovers start talking about that porous line.
LOL, clown this? Am I lying or r u a BFF of DC or poster??????????????????
