The Building is on FIRE and Mrs Gayle Benson’s CEO is watching it burn. (2 Viewers)

You could give many of the posters here a brand spanking new car and they’d complain about the price of gas.

You can please all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.
I’ll take a given new car, where do I sign up?

ML is one of the top GM's in the league. One thing we have been known for under his tenure is stability. I was not.. and am not... a fan of DA. That being said teams that fire coaches every other year are losing franchises (See Carolina and Vegas)... I am on board giving DA one more year to see how this plays out but getting rid of ML would be a massive mistake.
Loomis’ tenure has to have an asterisk next to it because he caught lightning in a bottle with the Payton/Brees combo. That’s a once in a lifetime hit at a HOF QB/HC combo and it was a majority of his tenure.

We are replacing a hof QB, hof coach, and a great leader in Tom Benson. It really isn't fair to put all that on an owner's misplaced trust. Loomis , just isn't making sound football decisions.

So, many of you on this thread say because of Sean and Drew, Mickey doesn’t get credit for any of the good during the 16-year run, but he gets credit for any of the bad at any time.

Not a fair method of evaluation. He worked hand in glove with Payton while he was here and got the players Payton wanted.

It’s like your hate gives you selective amnesia.

We had an above .500 season and the building is on fire?

You are the hyperbole grand master supreme!
Lovie Smith was fired in Chicago after a 10 win season. Sometimes records aren't the only reason coaches get fired. The Saints entire coaching staff needs to be replaced.

So you judge Mickey Loomis only on time with DA? What about the previous 16 years? This team has been good for a long time and ML has found a way to get players signed, resigned, structured etc.

He is one of thd better GMs in the league.
No he isn't!!!!!!! Sean made every personnel decision here. Loomis was in the room, but Sean made personnel calls. Loomis is like the guy who wins on his first pull of the slot machine.

And for those on this site calling out Mrs. Benson. We don’t have rich companies and people capable of buying an NFL team in New Orleans. We’re lucky she’s kept them here.

Blaming Mrs. Benson is Chicken S by the way. The best type of owner stays out of the way and lets the football people run the organization. If DA has another non-playoff season, I’m sure a move will get made.
For 40 years the Saints fired people right and left. It didn’t work

Brees covered up a lot of Loomis' poor personnel decisions. He's only had 2 good drafts in his tenure. Most have been below average. Without Payton or Brees, Loomis' poor ability to find pro bowlers is really starting to impact on the field. Not to mention he has saddled us with a sheet coach and a bunch of older declining players on expensive contracts and dead money.

Hand and glove :ROFLMAO: Then why do all the players/Coaches have links to Sean. With out Sean/Drew, Mickey's record is below .500. Sean has a Denver team beating good teams in 1 yr. w/ a QB he doesn't even want.

When Sean was here, I never blamed Mickey.........I blamed Sean. But, I have never saw Mickey as anything more than a Benson loyalest and a cap guy.

I agree that you can't remove the previous 16 years for Loomis before Dennis Allen. However you can look at the years that he didn't have Sean Payton here. His records in those years are 9-7, 8-8, 8-8, 7-10, and 9-8. I'm not counting 2005 for obvious reasons, I can't hold that against him. Its not a huge sample size but if you look at those records I have to say he's pretty consistent. You can pretty much say that unless he gets a good to great coach this franchise will just be the definition of mediocrity.

I've actually heard quite the opposite from people who've done business with him. He has a building construction company on the side.
If he has a personal side business, then how much of his time/attention does he spend taking care of those obligations. I would think, especially right now, the Saints GM position needs 24/7 accountability.

Well to be fair, Sean Payton's record without Drew Brees in the building is 9-8 and 8-9. That looks pretty similar to those Loomis records without Sean.

I really think you need a few more failed coaching hires before you can get this dire.
A few? Jesus, how many?

Is ten years of disappointment enough? Fifteen?

The winning culture that took a while to build is crumbling before our eyes. In ten years there won't be a guy left in the building that knows how to win. Possibly sooner than that

ETA: I'm not agreeing with the 'Fire Loomis Now' bit, but he's definitely gonna be judged harshly by the decisions made in the next 24mos

To me the real issue is the bailable coaches this year!

when will we ever see this many great candidates looking for a job in one year?

by keeping DA that third year we may miss the boat a a really great chance at a good coach!
