The Mandalorian discussion thread (2 Viewers)

I know I'm late, but can someone explain the justification these two gave for why these 2 Mandalorians can help them and not the other Mandalorians that were already there? I've watched the episode twice now but I still don't get it. You're in charge, but you have democratically elected laws in place. Okay, got it. Arms aren't allowed into the city, but you let Bo-Katan and Din Djarin into the city. Mandalorians can't come in, but they can? Why? Their explanation just seemed like word soup more than an explanation.
Essentially bc Bo and Din are off the books - I don’t think it was ‘legal’ what they were doing, it was just not very likely to get back to coruscant

I believe the ridiculous explanation was that citizens cannot carry arms, but visitors to their planet were allowed religious freedom. Since Bo and Din are Mandalorians whose religious beliefs include wearing armour and weapons, they were allowed to carry them since they were visitors. The other Mandalorians could not enter with weapons because the city laws considered them as citizens since they were employed by the city.

Pretty weak explanation, but then the whole sequence was pretty weak, including casting Lizzo and Jack Black, who were a waste of space with no apparent effort given toward their characters.

It's the one rather glaring plot hole considering this planet and Navarre. The Mandalorians were being paid as an outer security force and they just up and left. On Navarre, they'd been given land for rescuing the city from the pirates, but there was at least an inference that they were considered an adjunct police force considering that Carl Weathers again told Mando the offer to employ him as "sheriff" still stood. Again, they just all left. No explanation or agreement made about it.

The explanation given kinda makes sense....Bo and Din are Mandalorian, their weapons are part of their culture, so they are allowed to keep them on them, kind of like Jedi are allowed to keep their lightsabers on them in similar circumstances. The other Mandalorians aren't allowed in the city because they are armed militia under the pay of the city, city ordinance doesn't allow for the city to have armed security inside the city limits, therefore, they have to stay outside of the city. Allowing Bo and Din to act as "investigators" without actually paying them to work for the city was like a loophole in the law.

I was under the impression that some of the Mandalorians stayed behind on Navarre. But, if the Mandalorians retake Mandalore, they all move there, all of them leaving Navarre. Or maybe they keep a colony there? Like an outpost? Yeh, I was thinking along the lines you are thinking.

I think it was more a separation of military vs. police. The "Mandalorians" outside the walls were basically a military force paid to protect from external threats. Din was an unattached private contractor.

It's like Adama said, "There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people."

The majority of that episode was useless garbage filler. I wouldn't even worry about the mental gymnastics required to make it work.

We’ll see Sabine Wren in Ahsoka
Her mom, Ursa, were part of Bo’s group when they tried to stage a coup against Satine
After the coup failed she went back to the Wren compound- her allegiances vacillated between empire and rebels after that - she’s my PoI
And at first I thought the second (additional bc plural) was Kane, but now I’m thinking it’s Axe and they were working from opposite camps

When the armorer was coming through the clouds on Mandalore, I fully expected the fleet to be under attack already from the Empire. There was way too much attention paid to her going back to the fleet in the episode for it to just be nothing. She's either the spy or she'sgoing to save the fleet Of course, the spies could be referring to Elia Kane and possibly someone who spied on her and will show up in the next episode. At any rate, should be a good episode again next week now that we're finally getting into the actual storyline and I think we may just see the mythosaur in action soon.
