They are, but that wouldn't matter because whoever plays Dr. Doom is essentially doing voice over. Again, to be true to the comics, his face shouldn't be seen so it's all about who has the right voice for him.I thought Doom and Richards were supposed to be roughly the same age
Just hope RDJ doesn’t play Doom as ‘evil Tony Stark’
I don’t know. That sounds like it could make for a good movie and I think RDJ would do well with the challenge.I've given this some thought, and if they choose to go with burned face Doom (Originally he put his newly forged mask on before it had cooled and fried his face) and do voice modulation in the armor and it's not just RDJ obviously being RDJ, this can maybe be salvaged. Maybe. I'm not saying you "hide" RDJ per se. I'm just saying you do your best to create a visually and performatively distinct character that doesn't distract you every time he appears on screen. I don't want to be reminded of Tony Stark every time you see Doom. If they are being honest about him not being a Stark variant and simply being Victor...that's what you have to do.
If you have a completely unrecognizable RDJ what is the point of paying him a massive salary to return? (and I'm sure includes a percentage of the gross on top of that)I've given this some thought, and if they choose to go with burned face Doom (Originally he put his newly forged mask on before it had cooled and fried his face) and do voice modulation in the armor and it's not just RDJ obviously being RDJ, this can maybe be salvaged. I'm at the bargaining stage.
Doom is my favorite supervillain ever and I'm just trying to cope hahaha.

I'm not going to get too wrapped up in the Stark/Doom stuff.
I see this as two basic scenarios.
1. A play on a variant version of Tony Stark that becomes "Dr. Doom", and is a total mind screw to Peter Parker and others. There's a lot of character acting that can go on there.
2. He's Victor Von Doom, and is a 'variant' so he just happens to look like Stark. or, they wont' really use his visage at all.
RDJ is a very good actor and can pull this off. We shall see. 2 years off, right?
I mean, if I'm RDJ, I'm looking for another role since he probably knows the team he's worked with well and he knows what to expect. Maybe for him, it's more about wanting to take on a different project and this turned out to be something he can get excited about. Who knows, maybe he asked what he can do instead of an Iron Man redo.If you have a completely unrecognizable RDJ what is the point of paying him a massive salary to return? They've already said he's not a variant. He's just Victor von Doom.
He's playing a totally different person. Doom has nothing at all to do with Stark according to what they've said so far.So
He’s coming back as doom, who is Tony stark in some universe?
Is that it?
Or is he playing doom as a totally different person/no Tony stark?
I’m confused
