NFL Draft This is not a historically good draft. Don’t be upset if we draft Jaxson Dart high.

If it’s between drafting a 6’1” edge, the underachieving edge, the skinny edge that can’t defend the run, the skinny edge that beats women, CB with the bad hammy, or the OT with TRex arms…just give me the lotto ticket at QB. Carr’s not the guy…at most he’ll get us to the playoffs and lose. If you’re going to reach…do it on a QB

My fear is that Shemar Stewart is considered BPA with his 1.5 sacks and 35 pressures.

Someone is going to fall for it. I hope it’s not us. Just not worth the risk at pick 9.

If you’re such a great athlete, why didn’t you absolutely dominate your amateur level competition?

Being a great athlete doesn’t make you a great football player. If it were that easy, the available NFL talent pool would be multiplied times 20. 😂

Guys, show me a Myles Garrett, Josh Allen, Willie Roaf, Terrell Owens, Troy Polamalu. This is a mid tier draft with a solid top 100 to even top 150. It’s deep at edge and RB. But edge is not top tier. Wide receiver, QB, OT is weak. IOL is bolstered by the tackles.

CB is super weak. DI is mid. LB is mid. TE is mid, idc if everyone thinks it’s deep bc most of those guys are not in-line TEs.

Safety is also weak. This draft is not as good as 2017 that turned out to be sneaky good for us at least.
Those players that you mentioned, they're like unicorns, Steph Curry types, different breed. You're not going to get that every year.

WR and OT seems to be weak though.

I been on SR a long time no matter who we draft, 49% board going be like we got our guy, 49% going say he's a bust and 2% still are going be talking about DA.
1% still talking about DA and 1% still talking about MT/CJGJ.

Taking Dart at 9 would be a reach. Maybe not a waste of the pick but I think you could trade back Ang get another pick and Dart. So it would actually be a waste of a pick.
We need to stop wasting picks, by trading up or reaching for somone too high. We need to start taking BPA and getting great value for our picks.

The problem there is that if you have a strong enough convinction that Dart is first round worthy, do you really want to mess around like that risk-wise?

I wouldn't think that we would take Dart or any QB high just because we have a first round grade on him. It's deeper than that because we have an offensive minded young first time head coach. Moore will likely need to believe Dart is his guy. His young HC career will be hitched to his QB.

He has Carr to start with by default and shouldn't be judged completely by Carr's results. If he drafts a guy in round one, develops him, and eventually puts him on the field, that's going to be all him.

That being said, if Moore believes in Dart enough to bet his job as an NFL head coach, then we shouldn't have any reservations at taking Dart or any other QB at pick 9. So I would be all-in on Dart if he's the choice, and then ride or die with our new HC.

The Jets/Browns way ?

Jaxson Dart would be a terrible choice for us at #9
I was thinking more like the Packers way of drafting QBs at the tail end of your HOF QB's run.

But TBH I would take either Darnold or Baker over what we have on our roster right now.

Basically I am in favor of drafting QBs often because they are so hard to find - you should give yourself as many chances as possible to find a good one.

I would be mad because we need to put some guys in place for when Arch gets here.
So, IF Arch plays like everyone thinks he will, and he does decide to come out, we would need to be 0 and 17 to guarantee that #1 slot. And with a new coach, I don't see it. Unless next year you make Ricky Williams type trade to move up to get him. And who is to say they wouldn't pull a Eli and not go to a place he's drafted. Too hard to say you will get a certain player.

Saints ain’t drafting no QB high with how much they like their room with Carr and Rattler.
thats Mickey Loomis' thoughts for sure. Im just hoping that the new staff is assertive. And i hope KM's career will be determined from these draft picks. Therefore i hope he isnt swayed. KM knows offense, we're probably picking offense. If we chose Dart then that means KM made the decision, and im ok with that. I do like that Dart is from the sec and played under one of the best offensive savants in Lane. With that said, the biggest question mark is, is he really that much better than Rattler? or is any of the QBs not named Ward better than Rattler?

Dart did most his damage against 5 bad out of conference schools and Arkansas. In the 7 games he played quality competition he was very average. I find it hard to buy into him.

Highly doubt he declares next year.
