Our D is going to have so much swag if we land him. We’re going to be in the heads of receivers weeks in advance

Are you saying Tyrann is going to show them his "stuff"?
Dennis Allen has already gone on record saying that the “vision” for Marcus Maye is for him to be the SS. He also stated that the “vision” for Taylor is to remain as a boundary CB… so that means, right now, PJ Williams is your FS.…I believe Maye will play more of a SS role than center fielder. I just don't like PJ as a deep safety because he isn't the fastest to cover ground. That's why I liked the idea of Alontae playing safety because he has the speed. It will be interesting to see what happens. I feel like Adebo played well enough to warrant him being the starter and I don't see Alontae outplaying him in his first season.
Anything over $8-$9 million AAV would be too steep IMO. He is not the same player any more. That's just the expected bonus. Not sure what the base salaries would be or how long of a contract he is looking. My guess his he is looking in the range of $10 to $13 million AAV and probably a two or three year deal. Nick reported a few weeks ago that Mathieu was willing to wait for a team to have a need in training camp to get what he wants. Whether that's still true or if he would be willing to play for a little less here, I don't know.
He’s been asking for a lot. No one has been willing to pay and he’s been content to be patient and wait for someone to meet his price.Doesn’t it make anyone wonder why he is still available? I think the Saints have the upper hand negotiations wise. IMO
Don’t think one impacts the other.Unpopular opinion perhaps, but l would much rather put the money in to extending Ceedy, the longer we wait the more it will cost
Just makes absolutely no sense to spend pick #49 on a backup corner. Many of us think he will end up there, but per DA he isn’t starting there.
Our boundary corner depth is Adebo, Lattimore, and Harris.
We needed a 4th guy. Particularly a high ceiling developmental guy. Not sure how he can handle crossing, comeback routes with his agility scores.
Further evidence that it was a panic pick.Just makes absolutely no sense to spend pick #49 on a backup corner.
That's a TWENTY-SEVEN picks higher than Adebo who played fantastic for us last year.
If he wasn't drafted to play Safety... why the heck did we draft him?? No way he's starting over Adebo or Lattimore. Slots covered by CGJ.
Someone help me understand this??
For some reason. I was thinking Chris Harris.Who dat? Who’s Harris in the CB depth chart? Or you meant Roby or Crawley
Panic pick also makes no sense to me since there was so much talent on the board for different positions.Further evidence that it was a panic pick.
He’s not a FS. That’s pretty much the only secondary position I’m confident he won’t be playing. I think he backs up the CB spots, and perhaps in 2023 plays nickel of CJGJ leaves or SS if Mayes fails.I thought that Vols DB was a safety?
