russia may not be hitting these cargo ships enroute to Ukraine, but I'm betting that as soon as they are no longer in NATO waters, tied up to the pier in a Ukrainian port, russia will target them. But, they better be accurate and not hit the NATO side of the river.

I noticed yesterday when I was looking at the live shipping map, which I posted in the this thread, that there are a few small oil terminals, and inland tank farms there. There were a handful of small tankers waiting outside of the river and some more oil tankers tied up at the terminals as well as other places along the river.

That fire ball is clearly an oil tank farm fire a bit inland from the river. At one point the camera swung to the right and I could see an oil tanker terminal with what looked like two small tankers tied up there.

They went after the tank farm, which is safe insofar as escalating the war because the ships would be from who knows where in the world.
