I remember He said Turkey will crush (or help crush) Israel this past year (after 7 Oct. attacks). The US instantly stopped even considering sending him top of the line fighters. After that happened, he gradually did small things to help NATO, I just think this is him trying to get back in good graces for the new aircraft.
