Watching Football on TV (LED/OLED) (2 Viewers)

So I was planning on purchasing the Samsung Q85A QLED tv today... closest is at Best Buy in Mobile. Looking at a 5-6 hour ordeal to go get it and return home.

Really wanted to upgrade to a 75", but meh. Now I am looking at the LG C1 65" for $1800. I guess I'll get this one unless someone can talk me into getting a different brand 75". at 75", I'd have 3.5" on each side of the tv for the wall.

Why not order it online and you don't have to deal with going that far to pick it up?

BTW, these are the 65" TVs I was looking at before deciding on the Sony. I got the Sony at Costco. Have had it for 4 months and it's a fantastic TV. No complaints so far.

What made you decide on the Sony?

Well, my last TV was a 48" Sony Bravia LCD bought in 2007. Never had a problem with it. Still have it and the picture still looks new. I really like the GoogleTV built in. Downloading apps is easy and more and more shows and movies are being made available on those streaming apps like Disney+ and such. The picture is fantastic. It's got everything I need in a TV. The only thing I wish it had would be a component video in/out because I do have a couple of devices I would have liked to be able to connect to the TV that way. I don't miss it though.

The reviews for the TV are pretty solid. Word of warning. The TV is very thin, so it's really important to unbox with care. You don't want to grab it by the top of the screen because of how thin it is. I got mine for $1800. I think it becomes a solid value under $2k. It got down to like $1600 at Best Buy a couple of weeks ago. They bumped it back up tho.

Disregard the hurricane damage, LOL. That is a 65" on the wall. My wife doesn't want to let me get the 77" because she said it will be "too wide". It would leave 2.5" on each side from the edge. I disagree with her. It would be the width of the mantel. Would it really look weird to put a 77" up compared to the 65"? is $2900 too much for the LG C1 OLED 77"?

$2900 seems a bit high when a 65 can be had for just over half that. But, I guess that's the going rate for the 77s.

The 65 seems to fill out the space pretty well. Seems like the 77 would be wider than the mantle and might make it look a little off. But, if you get a much better viewing experience, worth the tradeoff imo.

Yes. At this time, it is not worth it, considering 2022 models are right around the corner. I wouldn't pay these prices for last year's models. Also it isn't worth driving 5-6 hours for a Q85A, which is mediocre to the Qn90a. Even the Qn90a isn't worth a 5-6 hour drive. Like I mentioned before in this topic, w/ LED tvs there is a panel lottery. You might get a good one, or you might get one that is garbage and has DSE. Don't know what DSE is? I refer back to my other posts in this topic for more info on that. Buy at a place where you can easily return a tv, if you get a terrible panel or something else isn't right with it.
