I am not asking for special attention. To be honest it was something I really never talked to anyone about other than my dad. My mom to this day doesn’t know.

My point is there are people who might not handle it as well as you and maybe a little sympathy wouldn’t hurt.

You seem passionate about Watson. I defending him and wanted him as a Saint but it was before he started paying these women off. I believed he was innocent for a long time because he refused to settle.

Now I think he was a little creepy and I don’t believe he forced himself on anyone. I would believe he was very inappropriate in front of some of these ladies and I believe some of these ladies are liars.

Ultimately I prefer the face of the Saints not be someone with this much heat. You won’t change my mind and I am not going to change your mind so I am going to step away from this conversation.

Again, settling doesn't prove innocence or guilt. There are risks for both parties to taking a case to trial. If Watson was completely innocent, I don't think he settles. On the other hand proving guilt in these type of cases can be very difficult. So that factors into the accusers deciding to settle.

Fwiw, I don't think the women turned it into a media circus. The media does that. What the women want is accountability. Some might think the settlement check and him being suspended for 11 games is enough. I think it didn't go far enough.

Watson clearly did some things wrong and he's already on record admitting that. He made some really poor decisions. Maybe he learns from that, maybe not.

My grandmother (teacher) worked under his mom (school board) and she used her position of authority with the assistance of lawyers to blackmail my grandparents into not saying anything allowing this predator to join the Navy. He then went on to father my half-sister who he later molested when she was an infant. When my half-sister found me 10 years ago when she was 20 y/o and I told my mom, I could tell it all came back to her from what that monster did. So, will I change my stance on Watson, absolutely not. He is a predator that used his money/influence to harass/assault these women. If it was 1 of the 20+, it was still too many and people celebrate this scumbag like he's something special. I just wonder how many he took advantage of when he was QB1 in HS and college. He'll also continue since he knows how to get away with it.

You seem to side vigorously with powerful men in these threads, and I think your critical opinions about the women involved here have zero credibility.

Women abused by men, and in this case MANY women similarly abused by one extremely powerful and wealthy man, are entitled in my view to do anything they choose to leverage any power they can muster, whether we like it or not. Their attending the game and the "attention they seek" is to raise awareness for women that powerful male predators exist and can get away with whatever they want -- and to be careful. That my friend, is actually courage.

I will say this. My mom, my wife, my ex wife and 2 of my three daughters have told me stories about being abused by men. One of the guys who abused my daughter is in jail but not because my daughter told anyone. He broke up with her and moved to another woman. He beat the crap out of her and is in jail. My daughter didn’t tell me about it until he was in jail. My other daughters ex husband got out of jail on bond and ran back to Mexico and is incognito.

My point is this happens to women a lot more than it is reported. My daughter was scared to say anything because he brain washed her into believing no one would believe her. Because of that another woman was abused and put in the hospital.

Women should speak up, they should be placed on a pedestal and protected by men.

this is why i get the way i get - my professional life was usually around 80% female and academic life would sometimes get close to that. I feel fairly certain i have heard harrowing stories from most all girls/women than many other men have

But I'm also not oblivious to the fact that there are women, and people in general, who will lie for financial gain. You can't deny that either. That's a factual statement and it's something I have seen with my own two eyes.

So while I may love women, I do not have on rose colored glasses when discussing them and what they are capable of doing. There are women who voluntarily sell their bodies for money whether it's prostitution, pornography, or simply by having babies for or marrying rich men that they don't love because he is wealthy. All for the mighty dollar.

The evil that exists in this world lives in the hearts of men and women. They are not exceptions to the rule. So when they make claims they are under the same burden of proof as anyone else. So once again, share with me the proof you have in this case that Deshaun Watson is guilty without a doubt and I'll side with you. But if all you have is the words of women who have accepted money as compensation then I personally feel you either don't require proof to believe things or you just want to feel that way.

In my opinion, Buzbee went to social media to drum up as many as he could just like they do with class action lawsuits. "Have you or a loved one used Johnson and Johnson powder or drank the water at Camp Lejeune?" Seen those commercials lately? They are money grabs and by promoting it people will come out of the woodworks trying to see if they can jump in and get a quick buck. The more they get to join in, the bigger the payday for the attorneys. And we already know how sleezy attorneys can be. Many of them are professional liars.
