A microcosm of Winston’s career (1 Viewer)

The defence cost us that game let’s be honest with ourselves, shouldn’t have been put in a position to pull off that big of a come back, but the interceptions at the end were unnecessary and ruined a great effort in the second half of what I felt should have been a game we found a way to win. It was there but we lacked the poise to make the biggest plays at the biggest time at the end.

No disputing that.
Oh, that post wasn't pointed towards you at all. You've been more pragmatic than ever this week. This coaching staff has to go. Jameis shouldn't even have playcalls coming in with go routes on that last drive. Not when you're within one score and Alvin's averaging 5ypc and the Vikes' defense was all set for pass defense.

Actually the one thing you mention there I do think is really upsetting, the fact that we were ripping off runs and stopped doing it completely. Zero balance to help throw the D off.

And, you missed his point entirely. Smh.

And in case you're still not sure, the point is we should be consistent when applying arguments to the teams players.
Could, Would, Should. Never going to happen.

You've also got a guy who's one of the greatest threats in the NFL and you have him on the sideline because you're (presumably) worried about him getting injured and having no other backups, yet you had him running routes on previous drives. Something ain't adding up with their Taysom quotient.

That means that you should have equal or more energy for Grupe missing the FG that would have put us in the lead, right?
Simple fact remains, you can't give credit solely to one player for generating 16 points, but then simultaneously excuse all the blame being put on that one player for generating 0 points in the same breath.

I know football is about more than one player or coach, as should everyone else. Stop trying to make everything binary, people.

They suck at arithmetic too.

Damn, I almost forgot Winston played defense. I'm glad you reminded me that he gave up 18 points in the last 12 minutes of the 4th quarter.
But if you're bringing the defense into it, then you have to give them credit for not allowing points in the second part of the Vikings game. That's the thing, it's not all on the QB, positively or negatively. Stop saying 'my guy is the best because of this one thing I saw in the game last night' - it's never that simple.

..Or blame the defense for giving up all of those points while Carr was in the game vs the Vikings.

Holes to poke either way.

This was my thing as well, as I've said this earlier. Down by a single score, we should have went to a balanced attack. We had plenty of time to do so and all of the "heavy lifting" was done to get us back in the game. And the sad this is the Vikings were expecting pass on all of those plays. We needed more Kamara when it got to 8 points; Sneaky Pete kept calling pass plays.

Thing is, I got smoke for everybody:
-Jameis should have taken the check down on that last interception. Yeah, he slipped but we had plenty of time and we didn't need a kill shot. I'm not tripping about that first interception as Kamara totally missed that block and it was basically an arm punt because I would have thrown it out of bounds. lol
-Sneaky Pete for horrible play calling when we got to a single score. We should have been more balanced.
-Defense for letting Dobbs and Hockenson go crazy in that first half
-Carr for being lethargic for 2 1/2 quarters of football.

Yesterday was a complete team loss and truth be told, if folks are unbiased, they would look at the Packers as a total team loss. '
-Winston had a few plays that could have been better (that screen to JJ was ugh...lol). He actually played better than yall are actually giving him credit for though.
-Sneaky Pete/DA for going full on conservative mode when Carr went down.
-Defense for letting Jordan Love look like Randall Cunningham (and DD whiffing on that goal line tackle)
-One of those WRs for running the wrong route on that last drive..lol
-Grupe for missing the FG to give us the lead

Question is, where did YOUR blame go for this game and the Packers? (rhetorical but you get what I'm saying). Because if you talk about a player generating 0 points, we also have to talk about the miss kick that would have put up points when "it mattered." That's all I'm saying.

Yea exactly. Isn’t this why we have Haener can’t he be our emergency 3rd? It was a travisty that we went away from him again, it’s just mind boggling are we trying to win or not?

And now we've both arrived at the same question. It's always been a pet conspiracy theory of mine that DA doesn't want to see Jameis or Taysom succeed, but now I'm beginning to question if that's the reality of the situation.
