The New Orleans Saints selected offensive lineman Kelvin Banks Jr. from Texas with the ninth pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Kelvin Banks Jr., a 6-foot-5, 315-pound junior from Humble, Texas, was one of the most decorated offensive linemen in the country during his three-year run with the Longhorns. A consensus five-star recruit out of high school, Banks started all 42 games of his college career at left tackle and was a cornerstone of a Texas offensive line that powered the program to the College Football Playoff in 2024. That season, he won the Lombardi Award and Outland Trophy, was named a First-Team AP All-American, and shared the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as the SEC's top lineman. Banks allowed just one sack in each of his last two seasons and anchored one of the top pass-blocking units in the country. ...

With the No. 9 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints have selected Texas OT Kelvin Banks.
Banks started all 42 games at LT for the Longhorns, In 2022, as a freshman was named a semifinalist for the Shaun Alexander Award. In 2023, he was named to the All Big-12 first team and in 2024, he was named First Team All-SEC and won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy as well as the Lombardi Award, awarded to the best lineman in college football that year. He also won the Outland Trophy, which is awarded to the best interior lineman in college football.
