Another anti-vaxxer has died for her cause...

Feel bad for her family. But her? Not so much. Play stupid games and all that.

I tell ya I hear this a lot. I do feel sorry for her. I won't claim to know where it started, or who started it, but this covid thing being politicized is terrible. Left blames right, right blames left. People are sick and are dying. Minds are closed. I hate where we are as a country right now. She more than likely felt like she had to speak out against it because she needs the support of the right. If covid had not been politicized it wouldn't be a talking point and I bet more people would be vaccinated right now. I lost a friend over me getting a vaccine. He has said it to mutual friends that he knows people think he is going crazy by the constant badgering he does, but he can't stop himself. I just find it sad.

Or she could have done what the Fox anchors did

Secretly get the shot and talk against it publicly

In a sad sign of the times, Ernby’s death also led to a public feud between anti-vaxxers and pro-vaxxers in the comments section of her Facebook page, with pro-vaxxers posting memes appearing to mock her death and anti-vaxxers falsely claiming she had died as a result of the COVID-19 jab.

Another gift the election cycle of 2020 gave us; politicizing public heath got us a new president but what did it do for COVID.

I think that it beautifully illustrates the hate and ignorance on both sides. So the lady made a really poor health decision because of bad politics? I don’t think that people should be feeling sorry for her. But mocking her death on her Facebook page for family/friends to see?

Political discussions in this country, and really discussions of all manner, have hit an all time low. And, it wasn't at all that high a level to begin with. I think a lot of it is the rise of the 24 hour news/politics channels. And, of course, the politicians who take advantage of those platforms to divide people for political advantage. It also doesn't help that people are pretty much so willing to say whatever they want to other people on social media. Things that most would not have said in person.

Others say things they don’t even believe

Not for any political advantage or because it serves a narrative or agenda or even for any financial gain

Some people just like to stir shirt up

Some of you know my wife’s saga after getting vaccinated. She received her first dose of Moderna last March, within days developed hot flashes, hair loss, and over the next month proceeded to gain weight and lost her menstrual period. She went to OB/GYN and determined that we was in early menopause. After dealing with weight gain, hair loss, and severe hot flashes (couldn’t sleep) for a few months she was started on hormone replacement therapy. The hormone replacement therapy helped with hot flashes but not as much with persistent weight gain and hair loss. Menstrual period returned but were irregular a few months later, and hormone replacement therapy was stopped.

Fast forward to last month, and she is partially vaccinated and her employer is demanding her to be fully vaccinated. She could have considered a medical exemption but that process is a nightmare, and she also really wanted to be fully vaccinated because she’s an asthmatic. So she gets the vaccine (this time Pfizer).

Boom…hot flashes, increase in hair loss. She can’t sleep because she’s again drenched in sweat and having chills all night. She restarted hormone replacement therapy this week.

Completely different circumstances, but my wife believes the hormone therapy is related to her breast cancer. She's not a physician and while I think your wife is and know you are, it's worth considering. Her actual doctors have instructed her not to start it again and, yes, she had similar symptoms to those your wife experienced, but not due to the covid vax. They were related in time to the hormones.

I'm sorry your wife is going through that, it sounds really uncomfortable and stressful.

For sure it's correlation and not causation, however, it certainly is not impossible that his wife's body could have that sort of reaction. I'd be shocked if there were not tons of weird one-off reactions to any vaccine or drug, or food, or whatever. We're huge sacks of chemicals all slightly different that will have slightly different reactions when other sacks of chemicals are introduced.

Exactly.

I've probably posted this here before, but the pointer toe on my left foot has been frozen unable to bend backwards since I had covid last fall. There's a small, raised and itchy path of skin on my right ring finger first knuckle which itches and causes the hair to be stiff and upright.

Both of these started during my very mild covid infection. No idea what or why or if they'll ever go away, but weird nonetheless.

If her friends and family and followers don't see it then the mocking does no good and is only mean. Perhaps belittling her and those who think like her will bring their awareness up to the level of a used shoe and save some of them from a similar fate.

Just thinking out loud.

I'm pretty sure the track record on this approach is dismal...lol

Thank you. Definitely, cancer was a very strong consideration from the beginning and fortunately, she’s had a million dollar work up to exclude many conditions including types of hormonal cancers.

Then, at least there's the benefit of being able to ridicule them.
I highly doubt that an antivaxer is going to say…wow, seeing these people mock the death of this lady has completely changed my prospective on vaccines. I’ve dealt with anti science and anti medicine types for over a decade and I’ve been semi successful at finding a common ground, but only through caring and respect. I suppose it’s not as fun though, lol
