"Ignore the smell and your gag reflex, a pound a day and you'll never catch covid"
=====================================================

An Alabama anti-vaxxer recently arrested in Jefferson County is touting urine as a cure for COVID-19.

Christopher Key is the founder of “Vaccine Police,” a website that gathers anti-vax news across the internet.

Key posted a video to his Telegram account over the weekend, according to The Daily Beast, saying that the urine cure has been around for centuries.

There is no scientific evidence to support Key’s claim.

“The antidote that we have seen now, and we have tons and tons of research, is urine therapy,” Key said in the video. “I know to a lot of you this sounds crazy, but guys, God’s given us everything we need.”

Key added that the vaccine is the worst bioweapon he’s ever seen. There is no scientific evidence indicating the COVID vaccines pose any health risk.

“Now drink urine! I drink my own urine!” Key said in the video.

The video came on the heels of his arrest after a recent court appearance.

Key appeared in front of Jefferson County District Judge Katrina Ross on Jan. 4 for an incident that happened last April.

Key was inside of the Whole Foods in Cahaba Village Plaza on U.S. 280 and refused to wear a mask.

Key was eventually asked to leave by the staff and after refusing to do so, was arrested and charged with third-degree trespassing..........

Yeah, he can drink all the urine he wants. He doesn't get to tell other people to do that though.

This is why I always have 4 weeks of Vacation/PTO in the bank. Just in case.

Not everyone's jobs work like that though. The job I had previously and the one I'm currently at both let you carry over a max of 40 hours from one year to the next and then you accrue 7-8 hours every pay check. If you get covid in January and have to be out 2 weeks your stuck with no PTO for that second week even if "did everything right" and planned ahead and were fortunate enough to carry over time from the previous year.

Exactly. "Just stay home when your sick" isn't an option if missing three or four days of work means you could suddenly be homeless.

Seems like a precarious spot for citizens of the "greatest country in the world" to find themselves in.

Too early for a 'Roll Tide'?

ROME (AP) — Police in Italy have arrested a nurse on charges that he faked giving coronavirus vaccinations to at least 45 people so they could get a health pass fraudulently, ditching vaccines in a bin and even putting bandages on his “patients" so no one would suspect the scam.

Police in Ancona, on Italy’s eastern coast, also placed four alleged accomplices under house arrest, accusing them of finding anti-vaccine customers who were willing to pay for a health pass rather than get the shots. Forty-five people who allegedly received the passes as part of the scam are under investigation, required to check in daily with police and prevented from leaving their cities, a police statement said.

Police filmed the nurse at work in the huge vaccine hub of Ancona, apparently squirting the needle’s contents into the medical waste bin before pretending to inject the patient’s arm, and then putting a bandaid on.

The suspects are accused of corruption, falsifying information and embezzlement, though police added that the fake vaccination scheme also wasted a “fundamental public resource.”..............

Just out of curiosity, your company offers zero PTO?
And would you intenionally lie to your employer if you have covid?

To be sure, a lot of places offer little to no PTO. They should, but it's not feasible in some circumstances. If an organization or company cannot provide PTO, then there needs to be some way for people to get paid time off if positive for covid.

I wouldn't wouldn't go into work, let alone lie to my employer about being infected, but, workers should not have to be in the position of deciding whether to work to take care of their families, or avoid working while sick.

Actually...you're probably a lot closer than you realize. There's also a New Orleans connection.

A January 2013 feature story in Sports Illustrated detailed S.W.A.T.S' history of misleading claims and its extensive relationships with athletes desperate for performance enhancers that wouldn't get them in trouble with their leagues. Notably, the story detailed a gathering with several members of 2011 Alabama Crimson Tide football team at the New Orleans Marriott just before the 2012 BCS National Championship game.

More here:

This dude is a piece of work. He seems to be from around the Mountain Brook area, which is the needlessly snobby, old money part of town.

I agree, but in the end that person alone is responsible if he infects someone because he knowingly went to work with Covid, and even more so if that person has serous effects or dies from it.
If that person gets fired for witholding that info, then now he goes from missing a few days of work to now not having a job at all.

Yeah, we as a society need to figure out how to not put people in that position in the first place.

We do to full time employees. Part time employees do not accrue PTO.
No.

I was making the point that everyone should be guaranteed time off and employers should be happy to let workers stay home when sick and not put the onus on the worker to have to choose between infecting other people (even with none covid illness) or missing out on money they need to live or getting a strike in the "well they aren't a team player" column.
