SCOTUS stayed the OSHA mandate - sent it back to the 6th Circuit. It's not dead but its getting close. Personally I am very glad.

Yep. Apparently they said COVID isn't an "occupational disease." I'm guessing they used that to say that OSHA doesn't have the power to make any rules regarding COVID since it isn't an occupational disease. I haven't really looked into it, but on first look, it seems like the right ruling under the law since OSHA does have limited powers. Many seem to think it's based on ideological bias, but I don't think it really is.

Significant headache and fatigue. Intermittent chills. I’d say much more flu than cold. Almost no cough or sinus issues. I’d describe it as a bad migraine with chills/mild cold symptoms.
So no respiratory issues? That alone is great news. Any variant type identified?

It stated with a sore throat yesterday morning but it wasn’t bad. I have a cough but it’s not that bad at all. If it wasn’t for the headache and fatigue I would have been at work today…but they were legit. Still feel like I have the flu but definitely better now than earlier today. I’m eating dinner right now and I can taste everything.

I don’t think they subtype the virus. But it’s probably omicron…that’s what’s blowing up right now

Had exactly these symptoms for three days last week. My son, daughter, and wife all developed symptoms at staggered times last week. Only my wife and I had symptoms to really write home about, though she did lose smell/taste as well and is just now getting it back.

My wife, son, and I all took PCRs last week. Daughter didn't need to test -- super-light (but noticeable) symptoms, and doesn't have to attend school for a few weeks yet.

My son tested positive, my wife and I negative. Really curious about the false negative rate of PCRs now ... it amplifies the RNA (?) in the sample, so one would think false negatives are uncommon. Pretty sure I had COVID, but will never be able to point to a piece of paper that says "See? Right here!"

Sorry about the taste/smell- that’s gotta be rough
But yeah trying to suss out ‘is this Covid brain or am I just old’ while having Covid brain and being old is a cruel riddle
I feel you...I'm stuck in the Matrix.
Do I really have my taste back, or is it just my brain telling me what it remembers chicken tasting like and that's why things are off?

I don't want to pry, but assuming that people that are vaccinated that are now getting covid are not going to experience near the same virus as those that got it while un-vaccinated.

If you don't mind me asking are/were either of you vaccinated before contracting covid?

If you don't want to answer that question, please don't feel pressured to do so.

As previously mentioned, I got Covid before the Vaccine was available to the public and it was by far, the worst thing I've ever experienced.
I was down for almost 2 weeks and I'm still dealing with lingering effects.

Me, my wife, and my college-age daughter were all double-vaxxed last spring and all three of us boosted in early December (to make sure we were all good for Christmas). My HS-age son was double-vaxxed last June and was not yet eligible for the booster when his symptoms started (Sun, Jan 2).

I don't mind you asking -- I'm totally proud of our vaccinations. And I have no doubt they helped us skate through with mild symptoms by and large.

What is "double-vaxxed"?

"Double-vaxxed" = Completion of the first two doses of an mRNA vaccine.

People might call that "fully vaccinated", but these days I think "fully vaccinated" is ambiguous. "Vaccinated" alone is also ambiguous.

Now that I think about it ... I guess the term "boosted" logically dictates that the first two shots took place (assuming it's not a J&J person).

From the day the vaccines were released, you were not considered vaccinated until 14 days after the second shot. I didn't realize we made up a new term. Lol
