I have a dumb question for u guys with Cox internet. Today, I am going to be turning in my Cox DVR and cancelling my cable tv with them. I am going to keep their Premier internet service though. My question is will any of my Roku channels that require a provider login be affected? My email address and password will still b the same. Thanks for any help!!

I called in this week to do the same thing. They offered to let me keep the bundled price for the Internet and gave me the basic cable package with the minibox for nothing extra.
Noooooooooo...
You fell for it.
It appears that ESPN will be joining the CBS’s, HBO’s and Showtime’s in selling an over the top streaming service directly to consumers. However, unlike CBS and Showtime, this ESPN OTT service won’t the linear channel that is seen on WatchESPN. According to The Information, this service will not include its major sports packages like Monday Night Football or MLB.
Instead, The Information says what will be included will most likely offer “niche leagues” and perhaps some college sports. What exact niche leagues and sports will be offered isn’t known, however, one thing is for sure. ESPN will not put its linear channels on the service knowing that it would alienate its cable and satellite partners. But ESPN will continue to be part of “skinny bundles” like Sling TV which is offered by Dish and Verizon’s package.
ESPN hopes that it will be able to reach audiences that don’t subscribe to cable and satellite and also discover what events in this package will work and what won’t.
ESPN has been hurt by cord cutting and Disney CEO Robert Iger hinted last month that an OTT package might be in the works.
So if The Information is true, then this package (we’ll call it ESPN Lite) could be the offering that Iger was referring to when he discussed this with investors. So if this is the OTT streaming service offering niche leagues and perhaps college Olympic sports, then one would have to imagine the per month price to be lower than if the Worldwide Leader came out with a package that included its linear television feeds.
ESPN is dying and I can live without it.
You can't talk about The Mouse like that. He's bound to kick your *** for it...The only ESPN I care to watch is MNF. And even that I can live without if the Saints aren't playing. And when they are, I can catch it OTA. I have no sympathy for ESPN. They sold their soul a long time ago and are reaping the rewards. Eat it. I hope they fail utterly and completely so we don't have to witness that sort of crap again.
Just an FYI for you Playstation Vue and Roku users or potential users. We recently subscribed to the Vue service on my Roku 3. While they have ABC On Demand, strangely, not all of the ABC shows are on there. My wife wanted to watch The Bachelorette which is nowhere on Vue.
Also, I recently cancelled all of my Cox cable service except internet. By doing so, my "Watch ABC" app on Roku had much less content and couldn't watch the newest episodes. Well, I did some research and found that you can log in to "Playstation Vue" as a "Provider" using your Vue credentials. All of the content came back and the wife was happy.
Sorry if this is old news just thought I would share my experience.
