I have a fire stick not the fire tv and it works fine. I have had no real issues per say aside from buffering / log filling issues on the stick. I am unsure if the fire tv will be better. I have it setup for 5 GHz via an Asus AC 1900 running Asus Merlin to get optimum performance from UVerse.

Well, I had some old credit card points to burn so I have a Fire stick coming to the house for $17 all in. If it works out, I may just look into getting the Fire box on Black Friday. Can't wait to check it out.

I see people on Facebook for sale sites selling "Jail Broken" Amazon Fire Sticks with Kodi for $80.
I put Kodi on my Fire Stick, with Exodus and a few other Add Ons, and it only took like 10 minutes. there was no "Jail Breaking" involved. I was thinking of buying a few of them and doing this myself.

Kodi itself is not illegal, and loading it to hardware is not illegal as long as you adhere to the licensing terms (profiting off of it may be violation of the license, but that would require a civil action by the owner of the kodi license).

It's the devs of the add-ons that are providing pirated content that are worth "going after" legally, and chances are, they are overseas.

So as a follow-up on my antenna issue...

I recently purchased a 2nd TV for the living room and purchased a 2nd Mohu for it. For some reason, this Mohu is also called the Ultimate, but has a signal radius of 60 miles compared to the first Mohu Ultimate, which has a 50-mile radius. What's up with that?

Anyway, set the antenna on the same side of the apartment as the TV in my bedroom, but the new one is just above the door to the patio. Not only do I have the stations of the bedroom, but also picked up the missing BR stations, PLUS it also picked up WWL, WVUE, and WGNO (although with a weak signal).

I wonder what's the difference in the two Ultimate antennas to where they have the same name but one with a wider range.

I'm wondering if there's something interfering with your reception in that part of your apartment where your bedroom is located? Those antenas can be very finicky.
Also, have you tried doing another channel scan on your t.v in the bedroom? I had to do that on my t.v downstairs after I repositioned my antenna. I too, also received several stations I didn't before I did the re-scan.

I'm almost afraid to and lose everything lol.

I would almost think that there is something in the wall between the two rooms that, along with the metal blinds are causing the weak signal. I won't complain too much since the other TV is going smoothly. The bedroom has the Fire Stick with KODI, so i should be good moving forward.

Anybody using a Mohu Leaf antenna in the Broussard/Youngsville area? Strongly considering getting one if reception is good.

I have a Leaf as well as a indoor directional antenna, the 2nd one I bought because in the Broussard area I'm having trouble getting one of the stations (can't remember which and I won't be home for a while). The indoor directional antenna didn't help the signal from that one station compared to the Leaf. I had no issues when I was living near Lafayette High but if I remember correctly it was also an issue in River Ranch.

I looked it up about a year ago and that one station uses a weak signal and I don't know if that has changed. Can anyone else confirm this?

Jack, the only channel I have issues with is CBS on the Mohu. Sometimes its good and sometimes not. The other big broadcast channels are great.

I love my rasberry pi. Movies, tv shows, sporting events through the internet. I get to keep the $100I was spending on cable chanels that sucked.

Ironically, here in Zachary, the channel that gives me the most problems... CBS.

Perhaps it's a ploy to get people to sign up for All Access...

Anybody know anything about outdoor antennas?My dad is looking to hook one up @ his house . I know he'll need a mount or pole to put it on.
Will he just have to run it to his old cable hook up? Also,will he need a grounding pole as well?
Can Anybody share a little insight into this?
