I think that sounds smarter on paper, at least. But, I've just never seen it work out anywhere. Maybe SF?

SF is a great example of it, and it’s more of a money ball approach, which given our roster situation (older and underperforming), it makes sense.

Don’t put all your eggs in the quarterback basket. Pay mid tier money for a mid tier quarterback, draft smart, have every spot managed by a slightly above average to good/great player.

I think we can all agree that March 12th can’t get here soon enough. Carr has said he will decide by then.

I just want a resolution at this point because the rest of the Saints’ offseason plan will be dependent on where Carr signs.

Yeah I do get the feeling the Jets and Panthers aren't very interested in Carr.
Carolina may make a push to sign him after the draft but I don't see Carr high on the Jets list of QBs

This is what I’m thinking too, besides what Seafog said. And we may be losing Davenport. Also Cam Jordan played 3/4 end in college.

That's true, but remember DA saying a while back, that the defense is not going to change. But I do believe he may want to run multiple fronts and that may include some forms of the 3-4. But right now we just don't have all the personnel to make a switch

I’ll say this: if it really turns out to be a leak to drive up the price; then the agent has done a pretty poor job. He would have failed in fabricating a market and then taken a swipe at the one team who has prioritized your client from the beginning.

From everything I’ve read about Carr, i was under the impression that his nature wouldn’t allow for trickery by putting out false info. So what’s taking so long if he’s a straight up character? However, he’s just out of a 9 year marriage that ended in a divorce, ouch. (It’s a divorce because he was cut before his time). Maybe he needs time to himself before he remarries. His head is probably messed up. I sense this is going on. But I could be wrong. But if he doesn’t hurry he’ll be 34 by the time he signs, this is taking longer that Watson, it feels.

What I don’t like about it, is that we can’t do anything until we know. But if the dude needs time then so be it.

Yea we’re certainly lacking the LBs to be a base 34. But we also run the RPO without the right personnel. I think we’re just wanting to have multiple fronts like the Buddy Ryan’s bros liked to employ

They re been plenty of sorry franchises that have been boosted by the qb Ala Jacksonville
