Haener film looks better than Young.

all you have to do is go back and read about how a lot of people thought Steve Walsh looked better than Troy Aikmen.. we all know that ended..

You're right, and some said Burrow would be a career backup. They're just setting themselves up to look foolish.

All you can do at this stage is assess their tools, which tells us their potential, and then guess how they'll adapt. It can be fun to guess if we don't take it too seriously.

Throwing 50 yards accurately. That would be a pretty low bar even for a JUCO QB.

But it’s not just the 50+ yard throws (not even primarily). It’s throwing out-routes and tight-window throws with zip. The last two years of Brees’ career proved that even with the best anticipation, a weak arm can only get you so far.

And to me, Haener’s arm strength looks a lot like 2019-20 Brees. You’re free to disagree, but I’m not too optimistic about his ceiling.
I’d take reading defenses over being able to throw 60 yard bombs and 50 yard outes

No one said Burrow would be a career backup after being drafted #1 overall.

Way too early to come to any conclusion on Haener. He has not even stepped onto an NFL field yet. Seems some want to make a conclusion on him either way based on watching games on TV, youtube videos, or internet scouting. Let's let him get some playing time and go from there.

Agree! One can accurately assess metrics, talents, and skills, but it's foolish to try to predict or make a conclusion on a player's career!

It's not foolish at all and a lot of fun to guess though, so I won't throw wet blankets on people's fun.

Just an aside.......Haener should improve in every category now that he's in the pro's.
