Jeff Duncan: Inside the Saints Culture Issues (2 Viewers)

Substitute teachers call the principal, while real teachers deal with issues on their own. This is so depressing, especially considering there are proven guys on the market right now.
This is all Mickey’s mess. The biggest lie of all was selling the idea we could just continue running Sean’s culture and systems without Sean. Mickey knew he painted this franchise into a corner with his kick the can economics. Heck, Sean knew, he ran from it. Allen is the vessel he will ride until he cleans up our finances and restocks draft assets. He’ll keep doubling down on his rhetoric until then. Then Allen will take the fall and Mickey will bring in a new coach who will be in a better position to build something. The Sean Payton Saints had/has a shelf life and it has passed. Since we’re still paying for it, Mickey needs a temporary life raft that he can blame down the line. He knows he can’t yet, he needs more time.

Agree, if a coach has won six Super Bowls you’ll probably listen to what they have to say. I think last year they had culture issues on the offensive side, but that’s what happens when you saddle your young QB and average offensive talent with a coordinator who has never even seen an offensive playbook.
But Bill O Brien's playbook got Watson that guaranteed contract.. 👀
Last season's foolishness bled into this year. Judge and Patricia broke Jones.

The lack of context in the 1st paragraph of this post is laughable/ridiculous......
Yeah.....he lost me on that. I can't think of anyway 2021 and this season compare, especially how he ended it. That's why I was trying to see if he remembered that season as it was

I wouldn’t say it is planned, but otherwise it makes sense.

Team sucks? Get the coach a QB.

He can’t play? Maybe he doesn’t have the right OC.

Team still can’t win? New HC is the solution.

Another losing season on the books? Only one guy left to blame now.

No need to get to step four any quicker than necessary.

It’s funny that Loomis has said it’s “stupid” to think that Allen lost the locker room, while also pushing out this propaganda that Allen lost the locker room.

Belichick likely knows more about football than this entire board will forget, but the Judge/Patricia decision was a huge blunder for a coach that should certainly know better.

And, see, that's the thing....even the great ones make obvious mistakes....none of them are perfect....that's why I bristle so much at the nonsensical comparisons of DA and CSP.....

My boss is not a good leader at all. I work hard because I am paid to work hard. I take personal responsibility for my work ethic and performance. Players should do the same.
In principle I agree. In practical terms, you're dealing with a lot of young men who are newly flush with cash that probably lack certain life skills and discipline habits. They need to be led and motivated by a superior with a coherent vision and structure.

I'm not in the locker room but DA doesnt exactly exude strength and leadership in what the public gets to see. That said, we had this sort of culture crisis under Sean Payton as well during the Rob Ryan years. They got rid of a ton of core players, including Jimmy Graham, as a response. Unfortunately it took another 3 years to get over the hump of mediocrity.

I don't understand Loomis' antagonistic responses to the fanbase lately. He seems to smart to be saying some of the things he is. What is he up to?

Not a culture issue, a winning mentality issue that the players have and the coaches don’t

I don’t think it was planned but I think it’s why you hire Allen instead of bringing in someone else. He was tied to Sean’s players. A new coach didn’t have the luxury of putting “his players” together. Mickey painted himself in to a corner. He’s biding his time now. When he can move on from these players he will move on from Allen and say we’re a good organization who tried to help our own but now have to go outside for help. It’s all self serving.

The story was already leaking; this is damage control pointing the figure at a "rogue faction" of Payton loyalists.

The whole thing reaps of nepotism. I hired my nephew because he's been around the family so long.

Individuals can control their own work product. Management can control the team's output. Just because everyone works hard, it doesn't mean they're working together.

If what you stated were true, project managers, coaches, and all leadership roles the worldwide wouldn't be necessary.
You can't assume that all leaders are necessary or good. Even the self motivated can benefit from good leadership or suffer from bad. A title does not a leader make.
