Just another day in New Orleans (2 Viewers)

How do you get attempted manslaughter from an action that resulted in a death? I'm confused.
It doesn't matter. It's a plea agreement so they can change the offense to meet the sentencing guidelines for what they've negotiated.

I wonder what the families are saying. I also wonder if it's not coincidence that the 3 that pleaded are actually juveniles.

Yep. I am assuming the family signed off but we will find out soon.

My recollection is that the remaining defendant had a huge list of prior offenses and was likely the instigator of the whole thing, so its likely a much stiffer deal on offer to him.

Also manslaughter in LA is a little different than most states. It's not really 'negligent homicide" its basically 2nd degree murder - you killed someone in the act of another crime or without specific intent to kil.. 2nd degree murder in LA is basically 1st degree everywhere else - you intended to kill someone and did.

1st degree murder in LA is intentional with an aggravating factor (killed a cop, multiple victims, etc)

The family signed off on the plea deal for these 3. Sounds like they aren't signing off on any deals for the remaining defendant.

“We want him to get the maximum. He drove the car. He stomped on her,” said Griffin. “The girls, they were all there for the ride, but the issue we had with them is they didn’t do anything to stop it.”
“John Honore deserves no mercy,” said Richard. “We’ll give him the same mercy he gave Linda. None.”
