I’d rather just go to a good BBQ place and buy a pulled pork sandwich. I don’t want the meat injected with chemicals and pressed into a fake shape. Yuck.

It's easy when there are BBQ joints around. They are very few and far between where I live.

Wife and I our first McRib in years today. Now I need to run a 5K tomorrow to work off that extra 500calories.

So...how was it? Good...meh...awful?

Oh, I defintely like it. My wife LOVES it. IMO it's one of those things that is polarizing for many. The sauce is a bit sweet IMO but it's balanced out a bit by the onions. I always take the pickles off. The meat itself could be thicker but it is tasty (as most processed food is). But I definitely wouldn't recommend eating them regularly. I may have one more before the promotion is over.

I'm thinking I should try to replicate it with real smoked ribs.

I've replicated it. Per the recipes I found on the internet, you use about half butt and half rib meat (both presmoked) and then you put it into the food processor, form a patty, and grill for a bit. Frankly, it wasn't really worth the trouble.

Who did you lose a bet with to have to do that? Or, were shotguns involved?
