Mickey Loomis’ End Of Year Press Conference (2 Viewers)

Body language experts chomping at the bit to be negative out in full force today.
He should of taken out the gum. The body language is odd. I'm afraid Mickey is going to end up looking like Bellichek after Brady left. If they don't get a new young offensive mind, they are dead. You can't always "promote from within"

He’s really defensive about his choices at HC and QB. Basically says it’s easy to blame them, but they aren’t the problem.
The quarterback is a way overpaid average quarterback. Been a qb a long time, and he doesnt throw in the middle of the field, or make quick decisions in the red zone. YHIS IS OVER 10 YEARS,not the last 4 weeks of the season while we beat up on the playgroung league(except Tampa on a short week< while we had extra rest

Can anyone explain to me how covid threw a wrench into our plans post-Drew? Loomis brings that up a couple times as something that changed the cap rules and set us back.
With the "kick the can" method of cap management, they suddenly had less cap space than the year before to restructure with, instead of the increase in cap space that was projected.

Mickey looked about as comfortable, as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. Does anybody believe Tom would have put up with Loomis chewing gum in a press conference? What executive in any $4 billion company, would do that?

Most often losing seasons are an indicator of more losing seasons. DA would have to go undefeated in 2 seasons, just to be over .500. So, why does it sound like Loomis is gaslighting us into believing that losing seasons are an indicator of greatness?

He's said the EXACT things I've been saying about Penning. They are NOT excuses they are facts If you don't take into consideration those things then you are blind or lazy and just looking for low hanging fruit

They're excuses. Pennings play has been awful, he can't get on the field even as a 6th lineman or when a starter goes down. Putting the blame on last year's injury is straight up an excuse.

I did not hear Loomis's mention of the other head coaches. But to compare Allen to Noll, Landry, and Belichick is absolutely insulting.

The reason Loomis gave for hiring Allen was continuity--that with Allen the team would continue playing at a fairly high level. Dennis Allen wasn't hired to rebuild a team.

Tom Landry began coaching an expansion team.

Chuck Noll took over historically the worst franchise in the NFL that had just experienced five straight losing seasons and that went 2-11-1 the year before.

Bill Belichick struggled in Cleveland and was rightfully discharged there.

He has botched the PR on this so badly. He apparently doesn't understand why the fans are uncomfortable. So rather than sell his vision for the coaching staff and the team, he insults the fans for being shortsighted going so far as to call them stupid. This is just weird behavior on his part.

There are plenty of great reasons to be apprehensive of Dennis Allen. Tell us why you believe in him. Give us something to believe in.

The EXACT things they are saying about Penning are the EXACT same thing they said about Ruiz, and Pete. They couldn't play the position they were drafted to play either. Penning isn't even a RT, we will be lucky if he can play LG.

Just have a sneaking suspicion Loomis retires after next season when this whole fiasco is revealed for what it actually is, a fiasco, clown show.

That presser was brutal. I get the message that he was trying to convey, but I think his execution was poor. His job is to leave that presser, convincing us that things will be ok, even if they won’t be. Kinda left me more deflated with feeling worse. Many of you are 100% though, that gum situation made the presser an extremely tough/painful watch. I get it, the past 2 years hasn’t left him much to defend. One thing that really confused me though. What were the “things out of their control” that he is talking about? Not sure he meant to say that bc everything that happens with your team, IS within your control wheelhouse. Unless you’re talking about natural disasters of sorts, then you could leave that part out

He makes a lot of money, I doubt he retires voluntarily. Dennis Lauscha will have to admit that Tom's legacy is burning to the ground and fire Loomis.

I don’t think Allen is a bad coach

He could win every single game next season, and still be 5 games under .500.

He is without a doubt, a bad head coach.

At this point this is Loomis' ego driving the decision to keep him. Loomis cannot accept his own mistake, so he is going to mash his head into the wall until its a bloody mess hoping beyond hope that he can wish Allen into becoming something he isnt so he can look like a genius again.

Loomis is going to drag both himself and the franchise to hades trying to appease his own bravado.

That makes sense, but the fact that its still an excuse in 2024 is not good.
I would just say that because of the strategy, which does have some advantages, it takes years to unwind and offset that. I know it's 2024, but it still hasn't been enough elapsed time to fully work off all of that mess.

That said, I'll be curious to see how they work around it this offseason.
