Winston did go in late in the 4th. Carr started the drive that led to the last TD. Winston came in and finished it resulting in the TD. Saints got the ball back with 3 minutes left and ended with 3 incomplete passes and turned over on downs.

Been saying this. What Rizzi did w/ a team that wasn't created in his image says a lot. He did more w/ Allen's team than Allen did w/ them and that should be taken into consideration. Based on the 2022 hiring cycle out of 10 coaches hired 4 remain, so u can do worse than Rizzi in this cycle. Meanwhile, there's only a 2/5 chance you can do better. Even worse, of the 2/5 chance you also have to consider 1 or 2 of the top coaches may decide not to interview here due to the state of the franchise.

If Rizzi can bring in a staff that fits to how he likes to do things (more aggressive offense/defense) he may be able to do even more.

If it doesn’t work you can always Jerod Mayo him after 1 season and the new HC for the 2026 season will have far more to work w/ for a full scale rebuild

I'm really rooting for Ben Johnson to be a huge bust. He seems to have a massive ego and I'm not sure it's warranted.

Yeah, I'm almost anti-Johnson at this point. That offense is absolutely loaded with talent. Sure he calls good plays most of the time, but he's not doing that with the Saints roster that finished this season. He's also probably not doing a lot it when we are at full strength as Olave/Shaheed are not the WRs ASB and Williams are. We don't have a LaPorta nor do we have a Gibbs.

I'm not a fan of keeping Rizzi, but wouldn't be too upset if he's given a chance to build his own team and work with a healthier roster. Only if we have trouble landing some of the better candidates with our cap situation.

He did make some gametime clock management mistakes and maybe a bit too "enthusiastic" at times.

Where has he built a winner? he is not an upgrade over DA I do not care how much people dislike DA, your only getting worse if you hired Rizzi full time.

I actually think Rizzi would do well as a head coach where ever he lands. I think this was a good experience for him and basically got trial by fire. I think with his own staff and vision, he could make some noise. My first move would be getting Selah to run the defense...lol.

People are also forgetting that Rizzi was interviewed for the HC position the year DA got it. He's been a candidate for this job the last time it was open. His interim experience wasn't perfect, but it definitely wasn't bad to where he's not a real option for this hiring cycle.

Based on Mara, Daboll is only getting one more year because "the ability that made him coach of the year didn't suddenly disappear", but also classified his patience as thin. IE Daboll will be given the opportunity to work w/ whomever they draft at QB. If he can't show where that QB is developing and the team isn't producing wins because of it, he's out.
