Nick Underhill: Saints Might Not Move on from DA (1 Viewer)

Loomis is going to have to do his best used car salesman impression to sell fans on DA for another year. Baring a major win streak I don't see how it's possible.

Loomis is an unserious man.

I’d expect “winning football games” to be somewhere on the list of priorities for someone that is running a football team.

I want to know what Dennis Allen has done, for someone who is now the third worst coach in NFL history when compared to other coaches that have coached at least as many games as he has, to deserve the amount of grace he has been given.

We waiting for Allen to become the worst before doing anything?

If Loomis wants to seriously destroy fan interest and any goodwill that he might still have then this would be the move I have watched the Saints tread water under DA, get embarrassed on numerous occasions and show a lack of fight in games. The last game of last year when they ran into the touchdown to get Jamaal Williams his touchdown against DA's wishes and then having DA apologise was more proof of his total lack of suitability to be a head coach. He lacks charisma, he doesn't sell hope, he takes it away. #FireDennisAllen

I rthink DA was hired to be an "interim" coach until cap is fixed. Just playing with overthecap.com, June 1 could give us a lot of relief if Cam, DD, and honey badger retire.

Given that we have made no real moves to rectify the cap situation and have continued kicking the can down the road, this theory makes zero sense.

DA will always be compared to Payton, a different coach will be compared to DA. Loomis always said it would take 4-5 years to get to the middle of the pack cap wise. I think DA was hired because it was easier to sell him on it than someone from the outside.

Underhill also said to expect multiple notable players to be shipped out this previous offseason to preserve DA's culture. Which didn't happen. All the talk of Lattimore wanting out and he stayed, didn't demand a trade, and performed at a level that easily makes him the best player on the defense and one of the top Corners in the league. Kamara could have just let the Saints cut him and gone to finish his career with Sean Payton in the Orange and Blue version of the Saints, instead he signed an extension to stay in New Orleans.

There was a huge amount of concern that Carmichael had saved his job with how the Saints offense finished last season. Then when he wasn't fired on Black Monday, serious panic set in. He still got fired.

I totally get the sentiment that we're stuck with DA because of the support/silence from the front office he's gotten, but history says that Loomis and co. aren't going to make a move with a coach until the offseason and they won't do it on Black Monday either.
Lattimore chose not to play after week 9 or 10 last year. He certainly didn’t “choose to stay “ As a pro - grabbing the back of your leg and saying you’re injured is the same as choosing not to play on some level.
They didn’t get the type of offers they wanted for him so he’s back but I can’t see him playing much down the stretch. He’s definitely not playing through any type of injury. He didn’t want to play for DA.
He’s smarter than Mike - meaning he doesn’t talk to the media -

Go look back at what Ive been saying going back to last season regarding DA. Right now his job is safe.

It falls back to the fact that we don’t have an owner.

Have you ever seen Gayle speak to the media or do any type of media having to do with anything related business ? The answer is no because she can’t.

Again - people blindly believe what they read in the media. Do you think SP just quit his job with his best friend as the GM ?? RIGHT …..

Things are not how they appear.

I thought he got a raw deal in Oakland. But he's more than made up for that in New Orleans.
Go back to his time there and read the grievances. Throwing players under the bus - constant excuses - shifting blame and taking no personal responsibility.

The 2024 Saints organization is no different than Oakland. It’s a bottom tier job with dysfunctional ownership/management

Allen is in his third year and we've done nothing to even try to get to the "middle of the pack" cap wise. There is no grand plan here.
