Nick Underhill: Saints Might Not Move on from DA (5 Viewers)

All this talk of some of us thinking about becoming fans of another team, I recently did that with my now former team in the NBA (Lakers). I got so done with that clown show, that I am currently an NBA free agent fan. I may have to do this with our team. Too much dysfunction.

Sorry if DA loses the next two I believe he's gone. I don't care what Underhill says. This is the NFL of 2024 and not 2004.

I get the frustration with the idea that DA might not get fired. I wanted him fired after his first season, but I really think he will be fired because I think they win at most 5 or 6 games this year and that will get him fired. All Nick is saying is that it's possible that he won't be fired. And I think that's true because if they get to 8 or 9 wins he might not get fired. But, I think there is essentially no chance of that happening.

I also get saying you aren't going to watch or buy tickets if DA isn't gone. I'm going to watch but I can certainly understand why others would not want to watch. But, I'm a masochist and I can't imagine not watching them.

What I don't get is becoming a fan of another team. Never has been and never will be an option to me. If I'm not a Saints fan I'm done with the NFL.

And frankly, I've seen the Saints with a worse head coach and in a worse situation than they are now so 3 years of mediocrity, one year of bad, and one more year of a bad head coach isn't going to drive me away. Bunch of emo bullshirt on this thread.

I'm already resigned to the possibility of Allen getting a minimum of 5 years. They will always have the injury excuse to lean on. They'll find a scapegoat in the off-season and try to create excitement for for next year. Wash, rinse, and repeat. Business as usual on Airline.

I hope the 1-7 Panthers blow us out! We need to lose out to even have a chance of DA being gone
I will never cheer for us to tank for a high pick, but at the same time, I won’t be mad if we finish the season with only 2 wins. It’s the only way i see us (probably) getting a new coaching staff AND a good player in the first round or trade back for more picks and hopefully an extra 1st or 2nd next year and whatever else in 2024’s draft.

I know Loomis is loyal to DA for some reason, and Carr will be coming back if DA is back, so we most likely wouldn’t be drafting a QB even if we get a top 5 pick. If we are gonna roll w him again next year, I hope Loomis is at least smart enough to see the writing on the wall and trade back for a team that’s eager to get a rookie QB so that there is a lot of ammo for whoever takes over in 2026.

You can't even trust Loomis anymore, let alone allow him to spearhead a massive rebuild.

Mickey needs a scapegoat, of course he's not going anywhere. As long as peopole think it's DA, Mickey gets a free ride.

ML is never gonna fix the cap situatiin to begin with. The Only way that ever gets fixed is if we rid of HIM.

Sorry, but that's the way I see it.
This. Let's say ML gets rid of DA. Think about what that would mean for ML. ML knows that we are going to be a bad team for at least 2 more years after this season. If he were to get rid of DA, that would mean that ML starts catching all the bullets. By keeping DA around, ML gets to deflect most of the blame. Truth is that ML should be shouldering most of the blame already. DA is a human shield for ML and every year DA stays is a year for Loomis to hide from the truth.
