No Way Rizzi can be our HC (2 Viewers)

I'm saying get a bigger sample size before making a decision on Rizzi. How hard is that?
Dave, he gets until the end of the year. Win out and he should get a legitimate shot to interview...not be given the job. Unfortunately that is not going to happen. We drop at least 2 probably 3 more games. Washington, @ Green Bay and @Tampa.

I'm not for Rizzi being the HC as he was consistently part of DA's poor game management decisions - he personally admitted such - and it showed again. The real issue is the offensive coordinator.

Kubiak's ability as an offensive coordinator should really be called into question. Outside of a couple games, the rest of the offense has been rather pedestrian. His end state is to put points on the board and he can't get it done.

I'm ready for the purge and pray that Gayle sends Mickey Loomis packing too. There has to be accountability and Mickey Loomis was the reason the team/ organization is spiraling downward.

There is already a thread about his clock mismanagement, If he wins the next 5 games I will gladly eat crow. We both know that isn't going to happen. We shouldn't even be considering him as HC if the Saints want to retain him as ST coach than fine but we should really be looking outside the organization for a HC if we want to actually have any meaningful change.
I mean, you can have that discussion now if you want, but imo, it's premature. Let's see what Rizzi does the rest of the season before crowning or clowning him.

Fwiw, I love his energy and barking at officials and holding everyone accountable for their performance on the field. That all was sorely lacking from Allen.

For the love of all that matters, please hire a HC willing to do these things, whether it's Rizzi or someone else.

Then we deal with it at that point. It's really premature at this point. Rizzi is 2-1 with a team that lost 7 in a row prior. Allen was awful and I don’t want that kind of coach replacing Rizzi. Let him finish out the season and we can talk shop then.

I don't know. He obviously wasn't perfect today, but it's his 3rd game as an interim HC having taken over in the middle of a season. None of the rest of the staff was chosen by him, he's just getting the team ready to play games. I think he did that today, but the team isn't very good despite being ready to play. My preference is to blow up the entire coaching staff, but I don't think this game eliminated Rizzi completely either.

Exactly.

This was his big audition game and he failed miserably. Yeah I know he inherited this mess of injuries and underperforming players but time management was poor. At times I thought Allen was coaching again.
Well most new coaches inherent a mess anyway. The rah rah and emotions will get old fast, it's about finding ways to win with what you have. Coming off a bye with time to prepare they didn't look good.

I actually think that was the smartest drive of football I've seen in a long time. There's no way we want to score and leave any time on the clock. We simply didn't have the personnel (OL/Taysom) to grind another first down/touchdown there at the end. I still think the strategy was correct, though
They had him the entire game up until that point and didn't score enough. It was a bad under preforming loss

That happens when you miss a FG and have phantom penalties and no-calls go against you.

And the OL without McCoy is simply not the same.

And it's not uncommon for teams to come out flat in the first half. At least the defense played alright in the first half.

Second half was all about adjustments. The Rams made them, and the Saints offense wasn't able to finish even though they managed to tie the game in the 4th. They were driving late and I think it's possible the outcome is different with Taysom in there at the end.

That said, the Rams' offense is absolutely loaded and I'm surprised the game was that close.

Time for someone new.

the only way Rizzi is our head coach next year is if the Saints are trying to move to a new city....and thats not happening.
