Pat Kirwan said he heard Carr didn’t want to do Saints contract restructure (86 Viewers)

Your hypothetical is exactly the point. His wife, kids, and Carr want to be in Fresno. That's why they wouldn't want to be here for the Super Bowl or Mardi Gras. And, frankly, there is nothing wrong with them preferring to be in Fresno or any place else.

I also didn't say he should appease the fans of try to appease the fans.
It doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to play here, maybe he just doesn’t want to live there because he wants to be where his wife and kids are happy….This is no reason to question his loyalty to the TEAM.

It's just further evidence to support the multiple reports that he wanted to be cut or traded. I mean when you combine it with the reports that he wanted to be cut or traded, it makes perfect sense.

Carr has no obligation to this team beyond his contract and teams cut players or trade players all the time that are under contract. So it's not about loyalty because that's not really a thing in the NFL. It's all transactional and if Carr doesn't want to be here or if he does want to be here, I'm fine with either.

But somehow despite you yourself being disloyal you are going to blast other fans for doing the same thing?

And for the 1000th time, the Chipotle thing is just people making a joke. Nobody but and incredibly small number of fans take that seriously.

In addition, as already described above, Carr received no "hate" until he did things on the field the trigger it. Wrongly yelling at Olave was the begining.

Finally, you are taking Twitter, YouTube, and message boards too seriously. It's not the real world and is a distorted partial reflection of the wider world and fanbase.
There's a difference. I feel compelled to defend the person being unfairly attacked. Even being a disloyal fan, I’m not going to wish evil on anyone. Or say hurtful things and have diarrhea mouth like some of these Carr haters. When I read such hatred, it tells me more about the person dishing it out, than the person being criticized.

I know one thing that needs to happen ASAP, we need to sign someone interesting! This no news cycle is causing the fans to cannibalize each other.

Who has wished evil on Carr?

Some people, I think wrongly, say he's a bad QB. And some say they want to move on from Carr for one reason or another, but I have not heard a single person wish evil on Carr.

Just because he’s open to be traded or cut doesn’t mean anything. I feel like at the end of the day, he’s going to play to the best of his abilities whether it’s here or somewhere else. I don’t think he’s a drama queen.

When camp roles around, if he’s still on the roster he’s going to be saying and doing all the right things again. Just my opinion. Could be very wrong about that, but Carr seems pretty professional.

So you’re unfamiliar that there’s a huge Carr hater base amongst the Saints fans? There’s only like 10% of the fans base that likes Carr right now. Ever hear the guy that calls in on “hold the mayos” podcast? He’s probably the worst. But every YT comment is negative. And don’t ignore the intent behind the jokes. Matt Mascona dropped “guy-liner” which you’ll say is a harmless joke, but we all know the intent is to appeal to the Carr hater masses for their clicks.

Yes I am. Give you an example, I was a LSU basketball fan at the beginning of the year.. after watching them get crushed by 3 sec teams in a row, I can’t watch em. I don’t like seeing them lose. And technically that’s a disloyal fan. But it’s especially true of individual players on a team. Like Carr, say he wins three straight games, people love him, then he loses the next 5 they start mentioning Chipotle. Chipotle didn’t bother them during his win streak…. Do I hate Saints fans.,, tbh, I’m a Saints fan, but these last couple years of following the hatred on Twitter, YT, and here, I’ve lost a lot of respect for a large %. My instinct is to take up for the person being pounded on, and since we signed DC4, it’s been a 24/7 job trying to counter the hatred.
That pretty much sums it up for me. I did the same thing with all the Pennining hate. People were just too lazy or didn't want to look beneath the surface with him. Turns out almost all of them were wrong and TP is progressing

Nobody, except for possibly a very, very small fringe group is judging Carr because he ate at Chipotle or didn't ride in a Mardi Gras parade. All but .001 percent of fans treat the Chipotle thing as a joke and nobody has said anything about him not riding in a Mardi Gras parade. However, not being here for the Super Bowl and not being here for Mardi Gras certainly supports the idea that Carr does not want to be here.

But, you don't live here and all you know about the fanbase is social media and message boards so it's not surprising that you think those things are true. But, you have to keep in mind that you are only seeing a very small portion of the fanbase on social media or message boards.
WHO DOESN'T LIVE HERE???? 1st I grew up in MidCity on Banks st and just moved from the Bayou St. John area to Kenner. I am still a local musician and am out and about all over the area talking to all sorts of people. Beleive me more than 70% of the Saints fans I talk to either don't like DC for ridiculous reasons or they hate him for more ridiculous reasons. AND the Chiptole reference comes up way more than you think

Right, exactly, becaue you know the players read everything. Wouldn’t you, if there were 10 pages talking about you? It’s human nature.

There’s tons of footage of Peyton Manning jawing it up with Jeff Saturday before the super bowls and playoff runs. Competitive QBs and centers calling the protections tend to rub each other the wrong way. Not saying manning and Carr are comparable as QBs - just that it does happen even without the skins.
There is not “tons” of footage because Saturday’s rookie year 1999, was Manning’s 2nd year and the Colts shocked the NFL by going 13-3. It only took Manning 1 season and the next offseason to start dominating statistically AND leading his team to wins.

The fact that you try to equate Carr with Manning is laughable.

And for the record, if Carr does end up being QB1 this year, I hope the Saints shock the NFL and he is a big part of it.

I found this one funny too. I think in the same thread now we've now had Carr's questionable "leadership" compared to Peyton Manning, and his success relative to his team's defensive ratings compared to Drew Brees.

Some high quality copium getting passed around. Be careful out there!

LOL you posted a clip from a much longer show by the BIGGEST blow hard Carr and Loomis hater that panders to all the DC and ML haters because it get's him clicks . likes and subscriptions ???
How about you watch some of James Skrmetta's response to that big blowhard hack
I posted it as I said because I’d run across it. It came up on my feed, just like that. I didn’t go looking for it.

Wouldn’t apologize tho if I had gone looking for it or watched the whole show as that’s my right to if I wanted to. His (Matt) style is a little too over the top for me most of the time, so I listen more to Ross Mike and Trip. Never heard of Skrmetta, I’ll check him out.

They’re all in it for clicks, it’s all a business. The sunshine pumpers appeal to some, the negative Nelly’s appeal to others, etc
Some we like more than others, simple as that. To me at least. 😊

Treat it how you want, but this is now the fourth or fifth person to report this or something similar. Florio, Breer, Underhill/Triplett, and Kirwin all have reported similar things. Apparently Carr preferred to be cut or traded and was willing to waive his no trade clause. The Saints asked him to take a pay cut but he refused and indicated that he would rather go. But, Moore wants him to start at least this year so the Saints did the standard restructure which they can do without his consent. I can't swear that the details are correct but 4 to 5 sources have now reported something similar so it seems pretty clear that Carr doesn't really want to be here and he's here because Moore wanted him as his starter this year. I'm sure Carr will still play his best, but it appears that he would rather be playing some place else.
Well technically they DO have his consent. He gave them that right.

Haven’t read that stuff yet but that is indeed laughable.
Manning and Brees are two of the greatest to ever do it, Carr isn’t anywhere near that as most aren’t. Nothing for him to be ashamed of, to even make it to the bigs and be a decent QB there for over a decade is great in and of itself.
