Why not just put Tipton, Olave, or Shaheed in the Slot for that purpose since they are actual WRs and run good to great routes? And are probably faster than this guy.

The guy is a great kick returner, but he's never showed a whole lot as far as being a RB or receiver. Though he did average like 8 YPC on 12 carries in this preseason

He runs a 4.3 just as fast as Shaheed and as a RB may be better with YAC

Nwangwu has open-field speed to hit a crease and go, but he's often indecisive with the ball in his hands as he lacks a runner's instincts and fails to anticipate run-lane development. His kick-return talent helps his cause and there are elements of his game that a team may like, but there are just too many underdeveloped aspects to expect him to make a team.

He was a beast, then his production dropped significantly and he gets cut. Something must’ve happened

DT Vickers moved to the PS for DT Ridgeway. Not sure who moved for Wu. My speculation is Prentice since his salary is guaranteed and he has served that roll before.

Lots of guys run 4.3. But he has yet to demonstrate that he can run routes or catch the ball. Or for that matter that he can be an effective runner in the NFL. There is a reason the guy was primarily a special teams player in college and for the last 3 years in the NFL.

He did have a good preseason as a runner this year so there may be some upside to him as a RB, but there is no indication that he is particularly good in the passing game.

Also, Shaheed looked good on the Jet Sweep last year so I think there are a lot of YAC yards that he will get in the new system that is designed to create YAC. Same for Olave. And, if I'm using a RB in the Slot to get YAC, it's going to be Kamara who has the ability to be the best Slot WR on the team. Except he a really good RB.

Which means every time he's in the backfield, you're tipping your hand to the defense.

Probably why the Vikings weren't interested.

But if we think of him as a kick returner and emergency/blowout RB, there's value there.
