Saints hosted RB Kareem Hunt and LB Anthony Barr (Upd: Hunt leaves Colts/Vikings visits w/ no deal; Giants cancel Barr visit) (1 Viewer)

Man, something's clearly changed between last season and now. What? I don't know exactly. But this team/staff, just based on this offseason so far, just feels a lot more direct. . .aggressive, maybe? Words are failing me here lol.

Hopefully it translates to the field.

It’s do or die for this coaching regime.

I ain't holding my breath for Barr. He seemingly hasn't been 100 % for long periods of time since 2020.
Can someone explain the injury concerns with Barr? Outside of 2020, he's averaged double digit games his entire career. Even with his injuries, he still averages 12.4 games a season his entire career. He even played 14 games last season.

This is what I was referencing.

From Wikipedia:

2020 season

He was placed on injured reserve on September 21, 2020, after suffering a torn pectoral muscle in Week 2. He missed the last 14 games of the season.

2021 season

In March, the team [Vikings] reworked his contract and was allowed to become a free agent at the end of the season. In August, he underwent a surgery procedure for an injury he suffered in his right knee during training camp. He missed the first four games of the season, while recovering from the knee injury. In the ninth game against the San Diego Chargers, he was declared inactive. In the eleven game against the San Francisco 49ers, he suffered a right hamstring injury. He missed the following game against the Detroit Lions. He finished with 3 interceptions, 2.5 sacks, and 3 tackles for loss.

Dallas Cowboys

On August 3, 2022, Barr signed with the Dallas Cowboys. He was acquired to provide depth at the linebacking corps. In the eighth game against the Chicago Bears, he suffered a hamstring strain injury late in the second quarter. He missed the following three games against the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants. He wasn't re-signed after the season.

I don't know if these are good signings, and I let things play out but I am not jumping up for joy with excitement here.

We just gotta be lucky to get him when he's healthy between these raindrops.

He was the guy, replacing the guy who is inarguably the best coach in franchise history.

We sign 2 STARTER quality players for depth roles and some of yall still dont like it.

You just can't please some of yall.

Personally I'm stoked!
Despite 24k + posts sounds like you are new to SR... If the Saints do it it MUST be a bad move

Oh, I think they're potentially great signings. If we're lucky.

Honestly when I read your post about him, I was expecting Dan Morgan or Kwon type of injury history.
No, I didn't mean to imply that. I'm not looking at it Chicken Little-y, just by the facts of why he's still available. It's a lot of tweaks and stuff over the last 3 years ... and he's 31. I'm also looking at it admittedly with the less than rose colored glasses of a Saints fan and our "luck" at keeping players healthy. That's all. To be clear, I LIKE the signings more than some others we've made recently and hoping we get lucky.
