Saints making strongest push for Anquan Boldin??? (2 Viewers)

People in thread are either trolling or just plain stupid.

Coleman better than Boldin?!? I want whatever they're smoking.

Its not just about physical talent. I believe in Carolina with Benjamin back TGJr is gonna fall off a cliff again with low targets or Benjamin is gonna have a crappy year with lesser targets because he's used to volume and already he's a .600 receiver with small hands.

Why are people saying he's not fast? That's never been his strength it's catching crazy passes and holding onto them he's a possession recover and that's not about speed good God man some of you people

Basically they are acknowledging that we only have 1 player on the roster who has the ability to stretch the field.

Boldin is a gamer. A guy you can always count on to get that 3rd and 8 with 2 minute left and the game on the line. We do not have that kind of veteran on the team anymore with Colston gone. We'd be stupid not to bring Boldin in if we can.

He's nowhere near washed up either. The idea that we'd pass on Boldin simply to make sure Coleman gets enough snaps is ********.

Even then, someone will get hurt. Someone will struggle. You need capable players and you never turn them down over concerns about snap counts for a dude like Coleman.

What wasn't last year?

I'm speaking in a general sense. Not every acquisition pans out, not every season presents the same opportunities, or unfolds as hoped.

I don't understand your point.

We couldn't throw the ball in Indy
Tennessee
Houston(oh wait no one can beat Watt)

That's my point.

If Boldin has just an average year by his standards he will crack the top 10 for Receptions and top 6 for Catches.

Let that sink in.

Catches
1. Jerry Rice - 1549
2. Tony Gonzalez - 1325
3. Marvin Harrison - 1102
4. Cris Carter - 1101
5. Tim Brown - 1094
6. Terrell Owens - 1078
7. Reggie Wayne - 1070
8. Andre Johnson - 1053
9. Isaac Bruce - 1024
10. Jason Witten - 1020
11. Larry Fitzgerald - 1018
12. Anquan Boldin - 1009

Yards
1. Rice - 22,895
2. Owens - 15,934
3. Moss - 15,292
4. Bruce - 15,208
5. Gonzalez - 15,127
6. Brown - 14934
7. Harrison - 14580
8. Wayne - 14345
9. Johnson - 14100
10. Lofton - 14004
11. Steve Smith - 13932
12. Cris Carter - 13899
13. Henry Ellard - 13,777
14. Torry Holt - 13,382
15. Larry Fitzgerald - 13,366
16. Andre Reed - 13,198
17. Anquan Boldin - 13,195

Looking at his stats, his production didn't drop off until last season. San Fran was a pretty darn bad team last year. Maybe it's a coincidence. Maybe it isn't. I don't know. But I'm open to the possibility.

You are worrying about something well before it should be a concern. It doesn't make sense.

Thomas has never played an NFL down. I expect him to be a good player but who knows how quickly he'll adjust and develop. The team is minus Colston this year and I can see the interest in bringing in an accomplished, veteran player like Boldin to push the other players around him, and see what he can contribute. There is no downside if this happens, at this point in time.

You're inexplicably worried about volume and playing time when camp hasn't even started.

The team shouldn't bring in Boldin because of last season's struggles?

Uh, ok.

It's not a coincidence. SF's QB situation was one of the worst in the NFL last year.

Uh, ok.

His logic is that we have Coleman as our 4th receiver so bringing in a future HOF receiver with legendary locker room presence is dumb because Coleman won't get on the field as much, therefore meaning we'll be worse than last year. I think.
