Should have kept Jameis (2 Viewers)

Stans gonna stan.

The evaluators that actually matter work for NFL teams and not a single one of them deemed this player a starter. Cold, hard empirical evidence beats what you want to be true 100% of the time.
Then he enters the week as a starter and has their best performance of the season. But with that being said, we know that the goal post will get moved to make what actually happens on the field anecdotal.

Again, evaluators that have never played the sport in their life or those that have played and won on at the highest level. Who do you believe holds the most weight?

I know you did not just compare Winston to Drew…My point is, if you settle for the 28 or 32nd ranked QB, it’s a situation you’re trying to get out of. If Carr started performing in the same tier as a guy like Flacco, we would all be rooting to get out of that situation.
Yall get in your feelings quick when anybody say anything about Drew. lol. Who compared him to Drew? I just mentioned that he was 3 years older than Drew when he signed here. Also, I'm not a victim to hindsight. We both (noticing your age) were around then and with the injury that Drew had, nobody expected him to give us the kind of years that he did, let alone 15. Saying you did would be akin to lying...lol

It sure sounds like you’re comparing Winston’s situation to Drew’s when he got here.

The reason Jameis is not seen by most as capable of leading a team even for 2-3 years is not because of his dropback or how he reads defenses. It’s his 5 or so throws a game that are turnover worthy. It just takes 2 or 3 of those to lose you a game, hence his losing record. The sample size is there.

Chris Simms has the same credentials as Kurt, i.e. media credentials. They're just guys with opinions who aren't trusted to make decisions for NFL franchises.

The evaluators who work for NFL teams outweigh a media guy in every single scenario. Not one of them wanted this QB in a league desperately searching for quality at the position. The team that *did* sign him made him their #3 QB.

Cold, hard facts remain undefeated.

Winston had ONE year where his TD/INT ratio was near 50/50 and that was the 33TD/30INT year.
Winston has NEVER had a season with more INTs than TDs. There are recent ELITE QBs who can't say this.
Since Tampa Bay he has --- 24 TD and 11 INT -- and yes, I realize he could have thrown a few in the last game.
Winston likely has years left and while nobody here SHOULD be conflating his potential with the elite performers in NFL history, some players get better over the years. Don't be shocked if he has a lot of years left and potentially even as a quality starter in this league.

He is certainly entertaining and I, for one, will miss him when he hangs up the cleats.

You are leaving out a cold, hard fact.....Those guys are human and are wrong sometimes.....

I would actually say that their situation is nothing alike, because Drew came with more uncertainty. But all I said is Drew was 3 years younger. Also, could you let me know what season he averaged 5 turnover worthy throws a game?

You are proving my point. Kurt isn't doing this from a "media" perspective. Kurt Warner is breaking down film and basing his opinion based on what is happening on the field. If you believe how Chris Simms evaluate, do you agree that Anthony Richardson is a bonified starter and do you believe that Will Levis has shown on the field that he is a better QB than Jayden Daniels?

You are conveniently overlooking a colder, harder fact - the chance of all 32 being wrong about the same thing is infinitesimally small.

None of which changes the fact that not one of them evaluate him as a starting QB in the NFL. The man who, by his own words, left in search of a starting QB job, couldn't get one anywhere.

Pretty much every game i’ve watched him in the last couple of years he has thrown some really risky passes. Admittedly I don’t follow his career like you do, but from what i’ve seen he is a boom or bust type of qb which is good enough to be a backup, but not a franchise qb.

By that logic, no back up QB or lower round draft pick QB would ever turn into a quality starter.....because those guys are almost never, ever wrong (well, in this example, only 31 of them were wrong).....nice try.....

There's something called learning by experience. The league has learned by experience that he's no starter, as far as any NFL franchise is concerned.

I have no issue with Jameis the QB. He's going on his Joe Flacco late career arc. Good luck with that.

I have issue with people trying to tell the world that he's something he isn't. Quoting a media guy as the ineffable truth is fiction and fantasy. He's not an NFL starter by every measure that counts, primary among them being the viewpoint of 32 NFL franchises' decision makers.

Late career arc? He is only 30.....I hope he proves those infallible 32 NFL franchise decision makers (plus you) wrong....we will see....I don't think it is as slam dunk as you think it is.....
