Ukraine (20 Viewers)

I don't think either Luka or Prigo want anything to do with Ukraine. And I think Lukashenko knows he has one foot out the opened widow. Prigo is just biding his time.
I don't know what fork Putin is doing. This whole thing is nuts!
It's scary.

Khrushchev once said the USSR didn't have to fight the US because we would tear ourselves apart from within. Then the 90s happened, The Soviet Union collasped but the flawed culture that caused it remains. So do the thousands of nuclear weapons. And they'll still be there when the R.U. collapses. Something needs to be done about that.

(Khrushchev may yet be proven right.)
My speculative theory about Lukashenko resolves the nuclear war specter without any nuclear weapons being used.

That was a key requirement I had when I was being speculative about it several days ago. Whatever is going on has to have the element of winding this war down without using nuclear weapons.

Deterrence works. It works so well that it will be a driving factor of something like this.

@Sailorsaint check this out. I found it in the Ukrinform news index today. Isn't that your avatar?

Russia keeps one Kalibr missile carrier off Crimea coast

Four Russian warships remain on combat duty in the Black Sea, including a Kalibr cruise missile carrier.
That’s according to the Ukrainian Navy Command, Ukrinform reports.
"As of 12:00 on June 25, 2023, four enemy warships are on combat duty in the Black Sea, including a Kalibr cruise missile carrier; another enemy ship is deployed in the Sea of Azov," the statement reads.

In the Mediterranean, up to eight Russian warships are on combat duty, including a Kalibr cruise missile carrier, with a total salvo of up to 16 missiles.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Russian invasion forces overnight Sunday launched S-300 missiles at Ukraine.

Yep, but that ain't no Kalibr. Mine is a Harpoon fired from the Antietam.

Now that your avatar is next to that photo it's clear to me that they are the same photo. "That ain't no Kalibr" missile.

I've looked further at Ukrinform and they use their stock photos for their article titles over and over. This is the first time they used this one, but that might be that they used their last "Kalibr" missile photo until they plumb wore it out.

So what I imagine will happen is someone will either tell them that they're using an American Harpoon missile photo instead of a "Kalibr" stock photo, or they will use it over and over again as their new standard "Kalibr" missile stock photo.

This is the "Kalibr" missle stock photo they wore out. It might even be of a "Kalibr" launch. I notice that unlike a Harpoon which is launched against another ship and flies a trajectory more like a cannon shell, that the old photo shows a missile which launches straight up the way longer range missiles do.

You seem to know the pedigree of that photo better than me. Do you want to be the one who tells them? News wise they are a pretty good group. They are kind of like the Ukrainian Associated Press wire service. Or the Ukrainian BBC.

Here's their contact address:

Let me know if you decide to tell them, if not I will tell them. But it is a photo you use so I thought I would offer to let you be the one to tell them they're looking like fools.

Yeh, I think they launch the kalibr with VLS, vertical launch system. I’ll let you do it for two reasons- you have a better way with words and my power just went out a bit ago and trying to use the sketchy att signal out here in the boondocks drives me crazy. Trying to get my Wi-Fi up now.

OK I'll take care of it. It will just take a few moments.

The trick for using the right "words" is the length of the message. I have to fit the entire message into two sentences. I can use the subject line as a kind of third sentence if I find I can't fit it into two in the main body. Any longer message and they won't read it.
