Russias economy is failing.

laymans terms-

they cant sell bonds ( they placed only 5/100 of target !!!! FIVE ONE HUNDRETHS ) to borrow and fund govt spending. Inflation is around 9-10% ( some think higher ) and targeted to be around 15% by years end and interest rate is 20% - they cant raise taxes ( to get the funding ) on Russians without repercussions domestically, their Sovereign Wealth Fund is dwindling, Ruble exchange rate keeps dropping vs USD/YUAN/EURO ...

so the only answer, as of now, is to PRINT MORE MONEY. Which would lead to hyperinflation

couple all this with Ukraine targeting refineries ( again ) which, at this point, is their one major money making EXPORT, and reducing ability to EXPORT revenue making oil, Russia is teetering on an economic canyon.

What is with Russia? The largest country on Earth with wasteland to spare, yet they build their ammo dumps on postage stamp sized parcels of land. This is the second one Ukraine has blown up which was too small.

I used to drive by one of our ammo dumps along the Columbia river on the Oregon side. We place our ammo in bunkers which are about a 1/4 mile apart from the other bunkers. A place which seems to be about three miles wide by eight or ten miles long along that by ship navigable river.

I also used to drive by where Port Chicago near Richmond CA once was. It was a loading port, and it was a ship which blew up there, not a long term storage dump, but it's gone now. It was too small, it's a non-existent once was a place now. There are still streets, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks where it once was.
On top of the small footprint, I don’t think they build berms in between the bunkers either.

The infrastructure in that wasteland is typically poor. So moving to/from the depots is more expensive.

They probably have a shortage of dirt.
Permafrost is no joke.
