Young couple goes on van tour of US, boy comes back with van - no girl (2 Viewers)

So, according to that, it's ruled as a homocide, method of death is pending further autopsy results.
I'll guess asphyxiation or blunt force injury. Likely heat of the moment turned tragedy.

But...to just leave her body out in the wild and return home? Complete piece of sheet.

And the dudes parents are sheet too for trying to help him get away with it.

I wasn't going to bring it up but it looks like you are all in so. :hearts:

I watched it a few months ago, it really is very interesting once you get over the shock factor.
Yeah, I'll probably look at the video later. But that thumbnail.

I'm so worried those cops from 2 weeks before IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STATE are going to be called, because of the public hysteria, to account for their actions. Everyone completely ignoring that under what the cops knew at the time would have resulted in mandatory arrest of GABBY, not Brian. Either way, didn't cause her murder and wouldn't have prevented her murder. It's important data in the whole timeline, sure. But cops aren't judge and jury on the side of a road. THAT'S WHY THE CONSTITUTION IS SO IMPORTANT. We don't live in a police state. What Gabby needed was to be in therapy, and cops aren't therapists.

Yeah, with Norm’s recent passing, I’ve got OJ on the brain quite a bit lately. And that’s why you can have a scenario where someone is guilty as hell but actually should have been acquitted.

I don't think the answer to domestic abuse rests in the penal code. The penal code only works after a crime has been committed. We don't have "precrime". The answer rests with awareness and education of our young women to not enter into relationships with controlling partners. Gabby had resources which means Gabby had power! She just didn't know it.

ETA: Gabby as well as her parents had not yet even realized she was IN an abusive relationship.

I know they can't but I wish they'd say what the cause of death was. We are only going to run rampant with speculations! There have been a few other u tubers/influencers/social media murders, but this case is the mack daddy with the amount of scrutiny. She had 500,000 subs on u tube, not sure what she had on IG or wherever else ... did he think people would just not notice?

Those policemen handled that situation really well. The police that deserve the backlash are the ones in North Port, FL.

So in regards to parents... If they can prove somehow that they aided Brian in evading arrest, and if he is never found, could it they be charged w a higher crime than just aiding and abetting? Like accessory to murder?

maybe accessory after the fact? not sure.

I agree. They defused the pending situation. It had no connection to him escalating to this point 2 weeks later. I agree with the North Part police somewhat. But honestly if he is on the lam, who predicted that? That's why this is so compelling. Which is what leads me back to he suicided himself cos that's what would usually happen (Occam's razor). But most don't usually already have a lawyer, which is what leads me to he IS trying to get away.

I dunno. And also, which jurisdiction? Florida? Extradite back to Utah? Federal?

I keep hearing that Brian is not a suspect, just a person of interest. If they can determine the time of death was near Aug 27th, the day the van was spotted, 900 ft from where the body was found, can't they begin calling him a suspect? And wouldn't that change the parameters of the "search" for him?

I am a little surprised at that, BUT I think all resources have been called out at least now in the search. Not sure what else would change at this point by changing that designation.
