Will Deshaun Watson ask for a trade (1 Viewer)

Watson's contract isn't bad at all. Over the next 3 seasons his salary is only $65 Million which is cheap for a starting QB. Another team that drafts higher could probably offer a better deal than the Saints.

To that end, the local media has a better idea of what the team would want more than we as outsiders would know.
I don't see how that's the case. Unless they have sources, they're guessing, same as us.

I don't think it matters too much, because it's Florio speculation for clicks that means nothing.

1 tweet? He has been saying stuff for months.
What stuff? Give me one tweet from him that say anything about being unhappy and wanting to move on. The other stuff is irrelevant regarding his future with his team.

Agreed. He is the same guy that said the Saints were looking to trade Michael Thomas. That man’s a whore for clicks.

If Hooston let him leave they might as well sell the stadium to a chicken farmer and move to Mars

If you ;look up "Franchise" in the dictionary you will see Watson's picture coz that's what he is ....The "Entire" franchise

Seems like there really is something to this

Oh. I didn’t know about the no-trade clause. Means Watson can demand a trade to wherever he wants. If he wants to be a Saint (and who wouldn’t?) we’d be nuts not to go get him. I’d drive Jamies to Houston on the I-10 personally.

Absolutely.

I think the issue is that we won’t have nearly the assets to make it happen. This really should be the move Miami makes. They have a ton of picks (including Houston’s own), Tua and a couple other young players who could entice Houston.

This would actually be the way for Houston to hit reset, albeit without the one piece any franchise needs.

Wow. It’s crazy how that franchise has seemingly been on the cusp of being a legit contender several times and continually blows up. Before the Hopkins deal, I fully expected them to be challenging the Chiefs and Ravens for the AFC this year.

Evidently that tweet was undoubtedly about the hiring of the new GM.

A couple of questions? One, why did he sign an extension when he knew the direction the team was going; with a no-trade clause. Two, has any team traded a QB of this caliber under 30?

Well that does seem to add more relevant detail, doesn't it? Although, is it just me, or does this report actually say that Watson basically thought the team should talk to who he wanted and got upset that they didn't? Rather than them making any commitment to do so?

I'm not saying it couldn't be handled better by the team, to make his view feel valued, but Watson isn't the guy who chooses the GM ultimately.

I don’t think a team should consult the quarterback on the hiring of a general manager. If they told him they would but didn’t, I can understand him being upset. If there’s any chance of trading for him we should go for it. I don’t think he gets traded though.
